You kinda ignored the rest of my post. In wars there is usually two sides each fighting for whatever reason in behalf of their country to protect it and their country's ideals. Each side is blood guilty so it is illogical to single one person out when you r guilty of the same thing they r.

Obito on the other hand was just a plain murderer for his own reasons. (Murder is personal) What Obito did was much worse than a soldier in war, but my only point is that ppl r justified to be offended to what Naruto said. If Lee, Hinata, Shikamaru, or Ino were there I would expect them to be offended too.
Um, if you look at Obito as not having any ideals of his own, then sure I guess. But he clearly thought what he was doing was right, just like any soldier would think their country/government, etc's reason for fighting is right. In fact, he thought what he was doing was right for the whole world, he was basically trying to build paradise. In war there will always be winners and losers but you can never really say that anyone's right or wrong. Obito was just doing what he thought was right just like Jiraiya Kakashi, Minato, Hiruzen, etc etc probably did when they killed anyone

Also once again they shouldn't be offended because Naruto isn't saying he's awesome for killing people. He specifically said it was because he wanted to be Hokage

Thanks for the viz. Stream was better for that panel, although I still thought they meant roughly the same thing. Maybe if panda added to me to it.

Soldiers are diffferent because both sides of the field are blood guilty. The ppl that Obito killed did nothing to Obito. In fact one of them was his beloved sensei. His goal was selfish for the same reason that Sasuke's is. He only cared about his own point of view. All of Obito's crimes should fall on his own shoulders.

Its ok for ppl to be offended becuz Naruto only acknowledged the good in Obito. If he would have put the bad in there also this wouldn't have happened.

And Obito unleashed Kurama.Let's not start this crap again.
I was watching through the episodes and I noticed how Danzo never really took part in helping the leaf village while it was being attacked. In the episodes they said if Danzo had helped, they could have prevented the Ninetails attack, by neutralizing it with the help of Yamato's wood style. Making it so that Minato and Kushina would not have had to risk there lives over it. My point is that this issue would have never happen had the right actions were taken at that time. Danzo for me is as guilty as Obito when it comes to killing Naruto's parents. He never helped the leaf when he could. All for his personal gain.

That's true but my point still stands that if someone compliments a criminal for something good they did, it shouldn't be confused with them praising/condoning/forgiving the criminal for their crimes

Chris Benoit for example, amazing wrestler, but by no means do I think what he did was ok.

He's awesome as a wrestler but a pile of trash for what he did to his family

@ bold Oh, this man is dying right in front of me so I should bring up all the bad things he did just because some people can't understand the fact that I'm calling him awesome for a specific reason :|

I can't really speak for other ppl, but when the person literally just committed a vile act a few hours ago it mitigates the lives that he has taken/ ruined in light of the good that he has done. I can see how ppl are aggravated about that. Obito was dead, and yes it would be completely proper to state the bad things that Obito has done and to state that in spite of that Obito was somewhat admirable.

If you can't see how it is insensitive then that is fine, but you can't really say that others r wrong for feeling that way. All of us have different emotions and different reasonings so its understandable that ppl will feel differently.

I agree, saving Sasuke, Sakura and Naruto. What the hell was he thinking?

I got you.

thank you iNoto!

Obito is awesome translates to Obito inspires, which he does for Naruto as a predecessor who wanted to become hokage. That's what he's referring to, nothing says he has to forgive Obito for what he's done.

But even then, Obito was acting in a way that he saw as morally correct--who's to say otherwise? Obito wasn't a bad guy.

Even further, the whole theme of the manga is understanding one's hatred and forgiveness, along with the power of friendship.
I got you as well
