The sannin and Itachi + other akatsuki are actually in the same tier. Jiraiya vs Itachi and Tsunade vs Itachi could go either way. And after Orochimaru lost against Itachi I'm sure he came up with some techniques and tactics against him.

Though a powerful trio... these guys get underrated for what they are actually worth. This trio is that of the Sanin. Now most of you will come and post stuff like "tf they ain't underrated"... And I will simply ask you, then why are they put under most of the akatsuki member? The answer to this would be because of fanboyism.

For example, the likes of Sasori, Kakuzu, Hidan, Kisame, Itachi, Kakashi, Darui, Onoki, Gaara, and some others probably, are most of the times put above the Sanin. Now most of this is due to the Sannin having a weaker fanbase then most of the akatsuki members and other characters.

Itachi:

Most people will like to say Itachi is superior to the Sannin, simply because of Orochimaru. Now why is that? Orochimaru's weakness is Genjutsu.....is it for the others? no. Now there will be stupid questions like "how does Tsunade/Jiraiya avoid Amaterasu" and so on... the problem with that is in a fight nothing is like that at all. Fighting requires a scenario, scenario is dependent on the situation. Most of us Fans have this stupid conception in our mind that it is simply a matter of counter and so on... however that is false, the wind , the temperature , the place, and so on are all deciders of the battle.

Anywho in terms of overall prowess Itachi is inferior to the 3 Sanin, sure he has his 5 moves of doom, like John Cena and Hulk Hogan.. but it doesn't mean hes stronger.

Counter to genjutsu according to Jiraiya, the person Itachi said who was superior to him.. is chakra control. There are fanboys who believe Jiraiya has no knowledge... I would like to tell them 1 simple thing, Jiraiya > Itachi in regards to knowledge. In fact Itachi has not denied it, when Naruto tried to do this method, Itachi told him he was still weak.... Orochimaru as far as we know has the worst chakra manipulation of the Sanin...

So again, Sannin > Itachi, in regards to power and prowess.. his 2.5 Stamina doesn't cut it compared to their monster staminas.. if fans wanna say its not that bad.. then the answer is simple.. the Sanins is still double that of Itachi's.



Kisame:
I'm sorry but he really has nothing on the Sanin.... He is a strong shinobi in regards to his own. But compared to the Sannin no. Tsunade and Jiraiya are bad matches for him since the over power him in regards to his fighting style, which is straight forward. And then Orochimaru the trickster is well..something else lol.

Not to mention, the Sanin are actually well skilled all around. And are all geniuses.

Sasori:
Really? Sasori? I'm sorry but Sasori is not even on their level. The guy simply doesn't have anything that overpowers them. Or makes him stronger then them.

(I'll wait for Sasori fans to rage)

Deidara:

His bombs are a bit overrated. People say if he does this and that , they won't be able to do anything.. the problem is that will be allowed to.. Which is a no. On top of that his ninja skills aren't on their level.

Hidan:

He is too one sided.. he is a taijutsu user which is good for him.. but the problem is all the sanin are expert in ninjutsu taijutsu, and some in genjutsu.


Kakashi/Darui:

They are strong no doubt... but again, they don't have the prowess. For example, Kakashi isn't on Sanin level regards to his stamina and so. Darui well uh he is basically Kakashi with OP lightening and lesser quickness.

Gaara and Onoki:

Yes they are Kage level shinobi, however they are not in the legendary status. For example, Onoki fanbase loves to overrate his jinton, when it hasn't killed anyone in the manga..What are onoki's skills besides Jinton and flying? Is he any good in Taijutsu combat?

Gaara much like Onoki is also too 1 sided, he relies on his sand too much. Sure hes nearly OP with his sand and can take on most of the Akatsuki, but again he misses things like Taijutsu... genjutsu ability to break it or so....

Understanding​

What I am judging them on is not a 1 vs 1.. but OVERALL as prowess.

-experience
-tactics
-battles
-skilled in all categories
-knowledge
-chakra
-stamina
-handling of situations

Also, not to mention that the danger Sannin possess compared to the people mentioned. I mean they are superior to some of the people i mentioned just with their base forms. So before you go off at me, understand this. If you disagree and want to discuss feel free to. If your gonna troll and insult, then your pathetically wasting your time, for someone who has no care.

you're under estimating the akatsuki, deidera fought off team guy with no arms, and no jutsu.
HE WAS EVADING GUY/LEE TAIJUTSU.

I'm not trolling. If Itachi had more stamina he could take it mid diff. But with him having low stamina he can't fight very long.
People are just majorly overestimating Itachi. And usually underestimating Tsunade.

Tsunade can push Itachi to mid diff IMO. His only chance is the MS against her.

I hope you're talking about 3v1 because they aren't beating Itachi, Kisame, Sasori, Deidara, Kakashi, or Ōnoki individually. I'm not really familiar with Gaara so he might lose to Jiraiya and Orochimaru, he should be able to beat Tsunade though.

Orochimaru would be able to beat all of them with Edo Tensei, without it he can only beat Hidan, Darui, and probably Gaara.

Naruto was reduced to tears. He would have been fast asleep if Sakura and Chiyo weren't there.

What makes matters worse is that Naruto used Jiraya's method to escape the genjutsu, and even with Naruto's high chakra reserves he still failed to break a basic genjutsu from a 30% Itachi clone.

And yet you believe Tsunade stands a chance against a 100% Itachi genjutsu.

Actually, it's Kisame who's a bad match up for Tsunade. His sword will drain her chakra, potentially negating her regen.

SM Naruto never admitted inferiority to MS Sasuke. They were portrayed as equal

1- When they faced each other, Naruto said they saw in each other heart that if they were to fight, they would both die, so from that point, they were considered equal

2- Naruto said he wanted to use Kyubi's chakra to defeat Sasuke when Sasuke said he would need Itachi's eyes to defeat Naruto. They wanted to go all out when it would actually come to it. It doesn't mean that they thought of themselves as inferior. The number1 point proves this

Now the statement itself is questionable for some reasons

1- He never saw MS Sasuke fight, so how does he know if he is stronger or not? Same goes for Sasuke who seemed to agree with Naruto's statement, apparently because they were reading in each other's heart

2- Sasuke was blind at that moment from overusing his MS, so he could accomplish nothing at that point in time, yet Naruto wanted the Kyubi's power to beat him, which means along with the number1 that Naruto probably rated Sasuke's potential threat there rather than his current abilities that were close to none

Also, Naruto surpassed Jiraya in SM control doesn't mean he surpassed him overall. Jiraya still control frog techniques better than Naruto, which makes him the overall superior in the department for me
