Besides it would ruin Luffy as a charachter if he is connected to all these strong people. Luffy's strength (as charachter) always was that he just was a normal boy with a dream. If he is connected to the first mate of the pirate king that is just lame.

It is obvious that Buggy was just joking because of all the strong friends/family he has. If you don't get that:

Might be true. But I think there is a WHOLE big-ass theory behind Rayleigh being called Silver and Roger being called Gold.

Gol D. Roger was his name people just called him Gold Roger cause he probably didnt want people to think about the Will of D (I think the D means Determination or something)... Silvers Rayleigh is his name so I highly doubt that he is luffys uncle cause that would mean being Dragons older brother which would mean Silvers Rayleigh was son of Garp which isnt possible since they are the same age and fought against eachother alot

..whats with these people and buggy. i myself enjoy his humor(stupidity) but to put him at equal ranks as a warlord? how stupid is the government? aren't they overestimating him? any above average pirate knows buggy's a clown (pun intended)
WB wasn showing the prisoners respect, he just didnt want them hindering with his plans to rescue ace..that was of higher priority.
don't forget buggy got his ass handed to him by luffy at the start..right now luffy alone could wipe out him and his circus with one attack...
rayleigh cannot be luffy's uncle (read zoroOP's post), also garp tells luffy of dragon but doesnt mentin rayleigh is his uncle? thats just stupid. the reason rayleigh took a liking to him was cuz of his relation to shanks and his similarities to roger and also cuz shakky is fond of luffy
