The Shinju kinda reminds me of the Moidon, the ancient Tree Kamis worshipped by the ancient Japanese long before organized religion was established:

It's also something to note that the Moidon, though worshipped as a god, is easy to take offense from those who take something from it (twigs, leaves, branches,etc.) kinda like how the Juubi went rage mode when Kaguya took and ate its fruit.

I'd go with the rinnengan if it were up to me people are forgetting the only reason why Mokuton is so fear because Hashirama for a long period of time was the only person to have. You have other people who have wood style Yamato,Danzo,Obito,Zetsu and they've come no were close to what hashirama can do atleast rinnengan you have a whole selection to use 6 elements,ninjutsu,genjutsu etc to restort too.
