ok i i just had to jump in lol...... ok we all remember wen lee faught garra as kids and the chunin exams and opend some of the gats too and he was super fast so gai then could probably hit the level naruto ws in against pain in sage mode ..so even now gai is really stongg so i think by just a couple of gates he mite b able to reach sage mode power and thats just a couple of em so mabe he mite be able to outclass the raikage in power and mabe match him in speed and we saw that naruto is on a whole new level then the raikage when it comes to speed .. so gai in the 8th gate mite outclass some of the kage now but i dont think all the kage

Gai is seriously underrated. With gates, he would be unstoppable; capable of defeating most alive ninja at the time.
I think he will open all 8 in order to protect Lee, or to prove himself to Kakashi.

Konoha's Blue Beast, is already a great shinobi, I think he is Kage-level when he has half the gates open, to give him some credit. And I also think it sucks that he would die if he opened the 8th gate, but it would be interesting to see that power(I heard that Shinno uses all 8 gates and survived in one of the Naruto movies, not sure if thats true).
Shinno had access to all 8 gates without drawbacks, but he didn't use all of them.
Besides, i don't think he can use them to it's full power because he's constantly healing himself
like i said before, extreme pain for extreme power

oh PS: about guy and the gates being underrated, I think after beating Kisame the Tailed beast w/o a tail, he will no longer be underrated in the series or otherwise.
By saying the 8th Gate gives you powers comparable to a Kage, Kishi was only trying to say it makes you very very strong. Keep in mind this was explained in part 1 of Naruto when the Kages, as far as we were concerned, were the strongest ninja you could become. Since then, everyone's gotten stronger and thus the term "Kage" doesn't really say much anymore, which is why the 8th Gate in turn doesn't seem all that great.

you guys are overestimating 8 gates as itachi namikaze have stated,
1. a normal shinobi uses about 20% of maximum capacity, each gate u unlock more and more by trading of more severe damage to the body. the higher gates can't stay open for long..probably 1 or 2 attacks at best...u cant unlock something you don't have.
2.opening the 8th gate = death, so why would you open that gate to make one attack then die? only time i see that happening is guy saving lee or something.
3.with access to 7 gates he couldn even surpass kakashi
4."stronger than a kage"...naruto's already stronger than a kage, he was ever since he mastered rasen-shuriken (surpassed kakashi) sm> gates...shikaku have said by mastering sage mode naruto is in a league of his own..knowing very well what the gates are capable of (smartest guy in narutoverse)
5.the only reason guy was able to take on kisame is b'cuz guy is pureli taijutsu based shinobi, kisame abosorbs ninjutsus (chakra) so thats plays to a big advantage since he cant absorb chakra and get stronger...this was shown when kisame mistook guys green sweat as chakra and was surprised when he couldn absorb it. and the reason kisame was titled tailless tailed beast is not b'cuz his chakra level is of a tailed beast...but as he explained it seems that way since he absorbs opponents chakra and the weaker they get the stronger he gets.
having said that, guy is still an exceptional shinobi..one of the strongest in konoha behind naruto, kakashi and hyuga leader

Great post man, you get it. I didn't mean to sound like I thought Guy was weak, I just tried to get the point across that he couldn't stack up to Naruto and the raikages in terms of speed and strength.

To the kid who says that "Guy says in the manga that each gate allows you to use 10 times the power" you are dead wrong. What Guy says is talking about the lotus attack, in a direct quote about the lotus attack he says "The lotus forcibly releases tens of times the normal power level." Not each gate lets you use 10 times the power. That would make Lee the strongest ninja ever just when he was a genin who opened the fourth gate.
But anyway so how's about that manga proof now?
And to the person who says I come across as patronizing, maybe I do at times but it is usually because I have to deal with people who ignore facts and logic in my posts and instead attack me because they have no worthwhile comments. You at least made a contribution with your post before attacking me. But then you went to tell me "fck off" or something and so made yourself look really bad.

this is your opinion man, and thanks for explaining too, im not overestimating it though, im simply saying what the manga is telling me.
'and if guy was to go as far as opening the 7th gate, i'm pretty sure he'll go further and to his own demise as well (for the sake of the shinobi war, not just lee)
just ignore them man, i don't agree with you but i'm not stopping your opinion, i expect people to argue on my threads but when they go as far as flaming thats when i hit them up, you'v explained your point, just be the bigger man and walk away, unless you have some more facts for the thread then you're free to share.

I would honestly like to convince you though, that is why I come on these threads, to convince people or to see if they can convince me to change my mind.
I am open to people changing my opinion but from what has been said in the manga I think that the gates is the last of the "modes" behind sage mode, kyuubi mode, tailed beast mode (different from Naruto's kyuubi mode as this is for all jinchurriki and is just their tailed beast transformation) and behind A in raiton armor in terms of speed but is stronger than A in raiton armor.

Just try and realise most people here are kids so if they seem ignorant they probably are. Just make your points and then LEAVE it. If you make your first point good you shouldn't need to reply again.
Example in your first post instead of repeating yourself 4-5 times you could have done 5 paragraphs done a little searching and found that quote about 10x power and countered that argument and then answered the topic.
And done it in a tone that wasn't patronising because otherwise who is ever going to listen to you? They don't attack you because they don't have worthwhile comments it is because they are kids and you have acted like a D1CK so they will respond like a KID. Calm the fck down.

Well first off I am perfectly calm, I am not attacking anyone on this thread. I was only wondering why others were doing it to me.
Secondly I call everyone kid, just like some people say buddy I say kid. I don't mean it as an insult I just say things like "Hey kid, what's up?"
And no in my first post I did not act like a "D1CK", I merely laid out the facts. I repeated myself but I do that in all my posts because I find that otherwise most people ignore your points so reiteration is best.
I don't mind when someone gets their facts wrong, but I do mind when they call you out on having your own wrong or when they attack you and insult you because you correct them. This has happened to me several times this thread and all I did was ask why, or prove the, wrong again.

Now as for the two arguing now, no one attacked each other, this happened for absolutely no reason, well except for the fact that one disagreed with the other. You two are fighting over words were only meant as sarcastic responses. You both put up really good points, but you two are extremely subjective, but thats okay because theres no such thing as objective thinking (everyone has there own opinions).
So why don't you two just shake hands and walk away, this website was made for the purpose of embracing the series not fighting over facts.

it's going to take a lot to change my opinion, but i try to think as objectively as possible so i don't offend anyone (theres no such thing as complete objective thinking). It's easy when you go to art school, they teach you to take in all sorts of information (even if you don't agree with it) and use it to your advantage.
