Uchiha clan were going to die one way or another. I admitt it was brutal what Itachi did, but he picked the better choice. I don't know what I would have done though. I have to admit, killing your own clan is brutal.

So what Itachi wanted to accomplish was preventing a war, well he accomplished it, by the wrong means, but what he was seeking was peace, right? but he couldnt "find" or "get" peace.

By political actions the problems with the uchiha could have ended , in my eyes that's the right way/means. The Uchiha didnt have to die, there are always possibilities.

You know that phrase came up after the first and second world wars from the actions of "evil" ppl on the POV of U.S.

Life is all about making hard decisions. They tried to solve this problem but time run out and they took advantage of itachi.

What itachi did is no different to what france, usa and britain did in the 2 previous world war and are still doing.

You must not know much about the Uchiha clan, they are the most hate drive people in Naruto. Ever since they helped form Konoha, they have been trying to get more power. If the Uchiha attacked konoha, the uchiha reputation would have gone down as the most power hungry evil group (even willing to attack their own village) which is what Itachi never wanted. Also, during or after the war when the village was at its most vulnerable, other villages would have attacked Konaha (who were the most powerful village at the time) such as Cloud or Sand. This would have caused a ninja war and many many many more deaths. The uchiha clan was going to die by either the elders hands or by Itachi's. Itachi chose to preserve the Uchiha reputation by making himself look like the bad guy, instead of the whole clan by claiming to have killed them to simply test his power. If anybody knew or found out this wasn't true (including the Uchiha elders and children) his plan would have failed. Itachi's way was much more simpler and cause much less deaths.
