Kishi's direction and themes with his manga have been all over the place. It's hard to tell how this will end. All I'll say is that it's very difficult to get behind Sasuke's redemption given all the things he's done and all the chances he's had. I think it sets a bad precedent that Sasuke could just waltz back into Konoha like nothing happened. He's killed innocent people and committed many other atrocities. This is bigger than Naruto or Sasuke or even their heritage, Naruto acknowledged this in the last chapter. Naruto cant let Sasuke get away this time. He's a threat to the entire shinobi world and the burden will be on Naruto to take him out. In fact I think it will finally show some resolve from Naruto that he was able to put his feelings for Sasuke aside and see him for the liability he is and has almost always been. It's kind of sad (I say kind of because I don't really like Sasuke) but his death would be very appropriate in my opinion.
