and i can easily say, Jman uses a shadow clone of some sort, which he has been shown to use a few times before in his fights. SEE we can assume how it will go, but fact is fact. Than Itachi would have wasted some chakra

Feel free to clarify further if youd like, it probably wont change anything. Unless youre putting them in a damn maze, it should still be rather obvious if Jiraiya is making a clone. Lets not forget Itachi has shown better use of clones himself, and they explode on top of that. And thats completely irrelevant to the discussion at hand? Besides that statement, there is also the SM - MS relationship(Naruto-Sasuke, Hashirama-Madara; Jiraya-Itachi), same note in databook, Pain recognised that Jman could defeat him, same Pain who recognised Itachi's power, or the fact that Kishi made them die at the same time

how do you not care what he did against Nagato? that where he displayed most of his jutsu. The told you the setting, Jman vs. Pein

Itachi can't afford to use clones carelessly and really wouldnt have to against Jman, as most of his jutsu are close-range. Both use fire release so the fight could start with the test of that. But once things get serious, Jman too has his advanteages.

Both of their jutsus are relatively close-ranged. Jiraiya's only long-distance jutsu would be Ma and Pa's sound genjutsu, but how exactly is he going into sage mode? The thing is, they are somewhat equal until Itachi brings out the MS. In which case, if Jiraiya is not already in sage mode, he doesnt stand much of a chance. He has no chance at doing any damage as well as having to dodge instantaneous amaterasu, while simultaneously avoiding eye contact. Its too much for him in base mode, which he will unfortunately be stuck in

its how you play your cards. As all big fights start with the test stunt, lets say Itachi goes into MS, this grants either black flames or susanno. Jman in noticing this change of eyes obviously will prepare himself, as Sasuke did. His best resort would be an offensive attack that allows him to use a clone during the distraction, Itachi counters with a jutsu and the clone. How will you respond?

Itachi has shown better base mode feats than him anyways, and may not even need to resort to MS unless it becomes necessary like if he summons the frog stomach or is close to achieving sage mode. Which isnt happening. My point was MS would end it quickly, as Jiraiya has no real counter to amaterasu. Clone spam will only last so long in front of totsuka and yasaka magatama
