Holy hell, like I said, Tsukyomi is not unavoidable. If it were, the series would be named Itachi Owns All.

It was stated directly that Minato was a once in a lifetime genus in the manga. He could analyze an attacks strengths and weaknesses after seeing it once. He could deduce patterns that most ninjas overlook. He could create plans on the fly.

They weren't inside the village at the time of their encounter. Also, with you Kakashi thing, why didn't Itachi just do the same thing to Jiraiya. I will tell you why: He knew he couldn't do it. Please do not put Kakashi on Jiraiya's level.

It is stated in Kishi's databooks that people with high intelligence have am easier time defending themselves against and using genjutsu. Minato was fast enough to avoid being pointed at, by simply not remaining in the same spot for an extended period of time. Ways to combat genjutsu:
1. Ninja being attack disrupts their own flow of chakra
2. Victim gives themselves pain, such as stabbing themself in the leg.
3. Train themselves to break genjutsu, like Deidara did.
4. Avoidable by causing obstructed conditions.
Do you honestly think that Minato wouldn't know/do all of these or the majority?

Finally, in databooks, Jiraiya and Itachi are rated both at 35.5, which is a tie. Minato surpassed Jiraiya, so of course Minato would be the more skilled ninja. Like I said before, Itachi is my favorite character but Minato is just more skilled.

Im talking about normal genjutsu, if Minato is caught in any normal genjutsu, which is a big if since I mentioned that he can throw kunai while out of Itachi's range, and if he cannot break it himself(another big if since its not Tsukiyomi so he can probably break it) and if he doesnt have a toad on his shoulder then he can teleport before Itachi kills him. Why would he be able to teleport? Deidara while caught in Itachi's genjutsu threw a bomb at Itachi and then wrap himself ready to blow until Itachi told him, while in the genjutsu, he was still using ninjutsu, Shikamaru was caught in Tayuya's genjutsu and used the Shadow Manipulation technique to break himself out with the intense pain, that is also niinjutsu performed while under a genjutsu, Hiruzen prepared the Shiki Fuujin while still under the Bringer of Darkness genjutsu, Deidara used C4 while still under Sasuke's genjutsu so Minato will be able to teleport while under Itachi's genjutsu. Simple logic with undeniable proof. I cant say that the teleportation will break him out of the genjutsu but that will save him from Itachi killing him while he's under genjutsu.

urm yes it genjutsu you still do actions in the outside world, if you raise your hand in the genjutsu you raise your hand outside, still tsukyomi is real pain, that won't be broken unless you're uchiha, if he doesnt look at his eyes,please tell me how he is able to escape amaterasu , when he doesnt see it activating?

seeing Minato appears near the Kunai, Amaterasu is to Minato's advantage as he will still teleport but Itachi will waste chakra for nothing

How did kakashi know?

He is an Sharingan user. Of course he knows much about the Sharingan, since Jiraiya told him to train sasuke to help master his. Besides by the time Kakashi knew, it was too late....... Even Kakashi didn't fully know. His Sharingan already saw the Genjutsu from Itachi, so he decided to battle it with his and failed.

You kids are ridiculous lol you make good points I will admit. But someone above said who says Minato knows anything about genjutsu...EVERY shinobi knows about genjutsu, and the ways to combat genjutsu are relatively standard education. It doesn't matter if he knows about tsukyomi, the ways to combat it is the same as any genjutsu. Couple that with the fact that Minato IS a genius, I will say its a safe bet that he can combat genjutsu. Granted, the more powerful the genjutsu the harder it is to combat it. Tobi has an amazing genjutsu attack that killed Konan so he CLEARLY can combat genjutsu or he would have been done for.

Also, Minato wouldnt just throw one kunai, he would throw multiple ones. If you try to say Itachi would just amaterasu every one of them, you are wrong because not only does Itachi not have the chakra to do it, he is also not dumb enough to waste chakra on something he may not need to use it on. Also, if he gets close to itachi, he can just mark him. How the hell is Itachi supposed to combat someone teleporting right in front of him with a rasengan already coming at him? Just sayin'

How did Onoki know not to look into Madara's eyes? How did Chiyo know that Uchiha cast genjutsu when you look into their eyes? If you say a Uchiha beat them this way, why are they still alive?

How did kakashi know?

He DID not know about tsukyomi just like jiraya DID not know what the black flames( amaterasu) was, itachi was hinting that what he was about to use was very powerful..... He may have known about MS as other ninja have unlocked it, but he had no way of knowing what abilities itachhi's ms unlocked, If he knew about tsukyomi why would itachi explain it to him? the name, and how he can control time and space etc.....

reason y i say there is a posibility that he could have known is that , shishui had ms and was in the leaf vilalge, his power being a genjutsu that requires no eye contact, but once again it's highly unlikely he knew about ms, y? because itachi had to explain to him the mangekyou,

Chiyo said she has fought Uchiha's. And even she didn't know about Tsukiyomi or eye contact is needed. Thats why she was surprised when Kakashi said something about it.

Minato just throws kunai in rapid speed, first reflex wud be to block, but Minato pops out of it and Itachi can't know this, so Itachi doesn't know to do susanoo like he did against Sasuke! Minato pops out and kills Itachi. Whats wrong with that????!

Thats what Minato always does to all of his opponents, ftg and then bye bye, even ppl who know about ftg didn't know what to do. Itachi loses unless he knows about ftg.

Also Itachi can't even use genjutsu long range so while they walk up to each other from around 30ft distance Minato cud throw a kunia and game over.

Please give a legit reply and if not then Minato wins unless Itachi has knowledge and also even without it Itachi has his chances. OK??
