Regarding those saying that Sharingan genjutsu can control Ma, Pa and Bunta.
They are -not- Manda. Manda is not a ''ninja''. He cannot use chakra or jutsus. Ma, Pa and Bunta have a chakra flow which they can disrupt. Not to mention that while fused there is no way in hell anything bar Tsukuyomi will work on the toad sages.
Jiraiya simply has to use Kai release on Bunta and Itachi would still have toads to fight.
And... finger genjutsu? Dude, this is Jiraiya, not fodder version Naruto. Ma or Pa can snap him out of it or he can break it himself.
Even the genjutsu used against Orochimaru was going to be broken but Itachi had the advantage of being 2 metres away from Oro and cut his hand so he didn't escape the genjutsu.
