He did lose to him on purpose, but that fight also served to highlight Itachi's level and feats. Even if we excuse the fact his intention was to die, he maxed out his power in his fight. Since then, we've seen many shinobi who have displayed more impressive power and feats than Itachi.

Itachi gets blitzed by a few warriors. His hype is nothing special. He was a prodigy as a kid, but got caught up to by the end of his lifespan.

I don't normally do top ten lists, but your post is contradictory. You claim he's getting blitzed by nobody but have him 8th or 9th? lol, so you think that the other shinobi you have ahead of him are all only slightly ahead? There is a gulf in class between Itachi and a few.

What does being a new member mean exactly? How does that affect my interpretation of the manga. He was hyped as a prodigious kid (as a few others have been), and was claimed to have been a "good" shinobi (debatable). He served his purpose and then died. Then he came back to serve a further purpose of augmenting Sasuke's character development.

Nothing extraordinary about him.

kakashi was also a prodigy. now hes not even in the top ten. not that far out though. his stamina keeps him out just like itachis stamina does for him. prodigy doesnt always mean the best. just look at naruto and sasuke. sasuke was a prodigy naruto wasnt. now naruto is arguably stronger and certainly not weaker.

Itachi lost that fight on purpose, as I said before. Itachi was spamming the crap out of his techniques to expens his chakra.

Naruto isn't beating Itachi. Yata Mirror tanks anything Naruto throws at him, and in the 4-5 minutes he can keep it up he can most definetly think of something against bumbling Naruto. If all else fails- he has an extra life with Izanagi.

Itachi vs Jiraiya would not be interesting at all. Sage Mode takes time to establish, which Itachi will exploit.

Tsukuyomi is an MS based genjutsu that a sharingan, which can see through jutsu, stands no chance against without bloodline. This is proved when itachi catches kakashi with it. Even without that, susanoo and amaterasu need to be dealt with. Overall itachi obliterates tsunade so the theory of kage always being the strongest is incorrect. As for itachi vs Sasuke that has been brought up a couple of times, itachi is defeated by choice, not strength. Orochimaru killed hiruzen. This is all fact, not really opinion. As for king Hashirama, you keep pointing out the use of a story point of view. The story shows us strengths and weaknesses. With no story point of view, we have no evidence to support either case. So we need it.
