Sorry if we have to talk about Hiruzen I'll try not to hurt his feelings. If Hiruzen feels as if the villages safety wasn't under danger then that counts as something. Shisui also confirmed as well saying a world war would happen. So now we have 1,2,3 people other than Danzo who are wavering this decision. Anything left to say?

The Uchiha knew what time it was. They weren't dumb. Hiruzen's lack of efficiency planned a major role in the end result. Danzo took advantage of his "friendship" with Hiruzen, and had him under his thumb.

Itachi wasn't really manipulated, he made his choice and chose the better of the two options.

The Root watched them 24/7 and the Anbu would join in against them. Other clans would see the conflict and join in, it wouldn't end quickly. We also don't know the genjutsu prowess of the other 3-tomoe users in the clan, maybe they weren't that specialized in genjutsu (obviously not to Shisui's/Itachi's level) and their attempts could easily be broken by opponents with skilled chakra control. The Uchiha would put up a good fight, but they weren't going to win. Also, in today's episode Hiruzen and the other elders agreed that since Shisui committed suicide, he pretty much ended the clan's hopes of succeeding in the coup, because he was one of the main forces the Uchiha were counting on. The clan would have been better off accepting a treaty with Hiruzen.

Itachi didn't know everyone in the clan so who knows how many MS users were within the clan, regardless who's to know what a base Sharingan user is capable of? Itachi dispatched 3 easily because he was a genius and child prodigy, 3 Tomoe Sasuke without the curse mark easily dispatched of Yamato and Yamato is not only an Anbu level ninja but a Mokuton user as well. 16 year old 3 Tomoe Sasuke owned the best Anbu Konoha had to offer. In Danzo's root Fu and Torune were said to be the best in root, they were 1 shotted by Tobi who barely did anything.

I mean what did they really think they were going to do? There what like 40 Uchiha maybe. How exactly did they think they were going to overthrow the whole leaf village. They had to deal with all the other clans, anbu, root, Danzo, and Hiruzen.

I understand the sharingan is powerful but its not unbeatable. They also probably would have gone up against Shisui and Itachi as well.

I am not saying they deserved what they got because the whole situation was just completely messed up but they were not very smart in that situation and overestimated their power which is what I believe to be their downfall I guess.

But Izuna and Shisui were not alive. He was stating that to his knowledge. Also, being the leader's son (and having to spy on his own clan), I'm pretty sure that he would know everyone in the clan and know whether anyone else besides him or Shisui had MS. No one else had it, even Fugaku was surprised when he saw that Itachi had it. Besides Itachi stating it later on in the manga, in pt1 Sasuke had a flashback of Fugaku saying that there have only been a few who have ever attained MS. During the time of the coup, they were just 3-tomoe users.

You are comparing a few Anbu fodders and thinking that the entire village is like that. Anbu and Root would attempt to stop the Uchiha first, then the other clans would join in after seeing the conflict. The Uchiha are not standing a chance against the Anbu, Hiruzen, Danzo, Root, all jounin, all chuunin, Yamanaka, Nara, Hyuuga, etc. They would put up a fight and be slaughtered in the end. You are comparing a 3-tomoe Itachi who is a prodigy, a 3-tomoe Sasuke who spent his life training, and a MS Obito to a bunch of random 3-tomoe sharingan users we know nothing about. That case makes it even worse considering that the Uchiha were completely annihilated in a few hours at night by those two people you mentioned, Itachi and Obito. The Uchiha in general are far below their level. Itachi was known to be the best of his generation and Shisui was known to be the user of the most powerful genjutsu, KA. W/o those two, the Uchiha were not succeeding. They would put up a good fight, but lose in the end. The coup was a stupid idea in general and they should have aimed to negotiating with Hiruzen, not risking their lives in order to take control of the village. U_U
