[Discussion] How do you feel about a black James Bond?

Race doesn't matter and he happens to be one of my favorite actors so I think he''d be a good fit.

I'm not racist, I don't even mind interracial couples and I have many friends of different races. I believe we are more than the color of our skin..

But man, a black actor taking the role of a white fictional character, that's a huge NO!

OT: I don't care. Iirc James Bond comes from Britain but his roots are not significant to his character. Western movie industry makes Western white actors play as Middle Easterns by painting them with eyeliners and tan sprays, honestly this is not even a big deal. Bonds before Daniel Craig were brunetts not blond yet Craig did not get this amount of attention (again, iirc).

I love Elba he's freaking rocks Luther but I don't think he should play Bond for 50 years it been played by a white Guy so don't think they should change Races entry of other good white British/Scottish/Irish actors out there like Damien Lewis, Sam Worthington, Andrew Lincoln, Jon Hamm, peoe like this would do great oh and Tom Hardy

We had white presidents for hundreds of years, does that mean we shouldn't have black ones?

I was watching Exodus and I just loved all of the white actors playing the characters in the highest positions of power, and then they had the naturally black people playing servants and slaves(Aside from the jews). That was hilarious. It's like making a movie about MLK and having a white MLK and an all white congregation and movement; when they get to the scenes with the fire hoses and dogs then they use black people. Lol

It is funny. Even in movies that take place in past times they make White Westerns act as people who are rooted in Middle Eastern, Caucasian (not "white" Caucasian), Anatolian, North African etc. I don't think they should act as Greeks or Romans either while they are mostly West European and British descenants. (Easterns and Africans get to played as their original racial relatives when they happen to be terrorists or slaves). People keep telling how racism is a thing of past but they internalized it too much to actually notice they are practicing it.

I don't get what you're trying to prove here.

007 is not a real person, Nelson Mandela is. It's gonna be a little weird when the white Nelson Mandela is telling people he's tired of being segregated against because of the color of his skin.

I don't have a problem with someone other then a "white man " taking the role.
Too me James Bond is just a codename given to the agent.

Though there's a huge debate on the different actors that were in the films as James Bond are really playing the same character.
Some people don't like the fact that another white actor is playing the role as that fictional character cause there should only be one James Bond one actor.

Kinda like when fans were upset that Peter Parker died and a kid took his place as Spider-Man. Spider-kid ?
To them there should be only one Spider-man as Peter Parker.
They simply don't like change or to see their hero or favorite character being replaced.

Which is normal for someone to feel that way cause they grew up with the character.

But they fail to realize theres different spider-mans in the time lines such as in the past,present,and future.

Which in this case of James Bond,who's to say that the new James Bond is just in a different universe that there's never was a white fictional character.
Or just a new agent taking the codename.

People need to accept this type of change tho.
