Naruto has been going downhill for a while now. One Piece by comparison always seems to please it's readers.

The world of One Piece feels 'bigger' denser. There's all these factions and mysteries, different lands and the story just feels 'tighter' in a way. Naruto to me feels simple and shallow in comparison.

Naruto is reaching an end.. it's not time for mysteries but to unfold them. For the rest it's a matter of perspective. For me OP is lighter and easy going. A lot of fight scenes and Sanjis' nosebleed and female stereotypes they encounter are not to my liking. They may make me laugh at first glance but the character loses respect from me. But the details in the arcs are fun.

In short recurring theme of all kinds of corruption and SH showing better moral values even though they are the pirates.

Naruto's world is smaller and deals with different issues.People are looking for better communication and relatively peaceful life after constant fights and wars. It also shadows our own conflict of among different countries by and large. So I won't say it's about loneliness only though I don't see anything wrong with that.

Loneliness arose from discrimination and hate and it's a big deal. You are lucky if you never had to see it. Naruto and Sasuke's have had their share of it due to their circumstances but even their was a difference.

In case of Sasuke he had everythign and lost them in one night. Naruto's progressed was getting blocked due to it since day 1. People didn't want to him grow at all and question even his admission in the acedemy. The story is about his progress from having no one to even play with him people following him. But you should have noticed that current when you started reading it.

Obito is having problems accepting the harsh reality of life and wars and moving on. He wants to trap himself and everyone in a fake dream world where he can live his fantasy.

Gato, Oro, Nagato, Zabuza , Kabuto, Itachi, Danzou all have had their own reasons for their actions and they are not based on loneliness either. I am too lazy to make a list nor I remember them all. But there is greed ( Gato, mizuki), there is ambition, (Oro, Danzou), Pacifist( hiruzen) there is jealously(Danzou), there is misguided idea of justice ( Nagato), Hidan ( fanatic killer without remorse), Raikages underhanded dealings ( attempted kidnapping of Kushina and Hinata) there is Kabuto talents but trying to be someone he isn't..loyality - sometimes due to gratitude at others due to sense of duty. There is ample of manipulation, dirty politics as well. Only thing is that in Naruto it's not often that loud but more subtle.

Unlike Luffy, Naruto didn't grow up with a longing for adventure. Luffy's circumstances were totally different. Why would they be looking for the same thing? If Naruto didn't had it's own appeal you wouldn't be even wasting time posting on it.

The problem arises when people somehow expect same treatment for different plots.

Edit: Out for the night. It's nearly 1 AM here and Sunday already. Play nice and do not start flame wars.

What exactly does this post have to do with the one you quoted? You didn't address anything I said. I'm talking about the power scaling and themes of the two stories. You're not talking about any of that in this post. What you have posted are is reasons for what they are doing, or their experiences. None of those are actual themes. I don't see any dirty politics in Naruto-verse, there's many different Governments in the Naruto world, each of which look out for its country and do what's necessary for it. They aren't corrupt or dirty, they're practicing survival of the fittest.

As for the moral pirates thing, that's because Oda wants to get across the message that labels don't matter. Simply being a Marine doesn't make you good, and simply being a Pirate doesn't make you evil. It's not the label you have, but your actions that determine who you are.

Because idk One piece is based on Luffy's crew...

"the main trio"... sadly Zoro out classes Sanji. While Luffy and Zoro don't have that big of a gap.

Love how your calling Naruto people useless because they don't show their worth on the screen.... When Oda gives Dragon /Shanks any time on the screen lets talk.
Dragon and Shanks aren't main characters...Also, at the stage OP is at, Shanks and Dragon are the One Piece equivalent to Akatsuki in Part 1 in terms of series activity, they're doing things, but it's not the time of the story where they play large roles yet.

If your up too date with one piece then you should know that every villain is there for a reason, example being Power, Money, and of course the greatest treasure One Piece. If your trying to compare Naruto and one piece your going to have major problems, both of these manga/anime have completely different setting and themes. Naruto revolves around ninja's which have a basic code/moral and try there best to create a peaceful world. It's also because of that reason Naruto kin of gets boring because it's the same thing over and over again. A villain rises to create peace in his way, and naruto stops him/them.
While in one piece which revolves around pirates, it has chaos and anarchy because pirates don't generally or really obid any laws..... The majority of the villains in one piece is set to play a role that would change the Major characters in some why. Also since it is a story about pirates it is normal for it to contain something as a commen goal (hence one piece). And since the story revolves around pirates, it's going to attract many crime
However the real reason why oda is better is because he actually takes his time to develop the characters both major and side characters. In Naruto it really just revolves around sauske and Naruto, and how they obtain a greater power through tears and sob stories.
One piece is different For example luffy's crew....... For each member we have seen there story's and background, for each member we see them having a significant role to play out.
Also in one piece you are not over powered like in Naruto......... In Naruto if you have a doujutsu or kikkie Genkai you are stronger then the rest and obtain a huge amount of power. In one piece if you have a devil fruit, it doesn't determine your strangth and advantage, one has to fully adapt and use his power that he obtained through the devil fruit to become strong, but even if you become strong other people would still be able to bet you with Haki and sly tactics. Another reason is that although one piece has devil fruits it doesn't just revolve around a singler fruit that over grows/evolves into greatness, but it expands on a wide range of devil fruits of many kinds.

Also the greates thing about one piece is.....
Those who are on top determine what is right and wrong, those who are on top determine what is good and bad, those who are top would always have absolute justice and be seen as justice (That's what most of the people are fighting for in one piece)
