How can people seriously think that Oda is a beter writer than Kishimoto.

Lets me start by saying this i'm up to date with One piece,so don't bring me that you're not Caught Up with the
manga. BS

The reason i think kishi is beter writer is because of this;

1:The fight's: Is not about who can punch the hardest or destroy the most but strategy
i have never seen someone been taking out with a random punch or kick expect for fodders.

One piece
This is what happens almost everytime in one piece expect from the Moria/Oars vs the Strawhat fight.

2:The story: everything that has to do with real life problems you can find it in naruto, struggles, being left out,Politic,
weakness,family,relationships,......

One piece has it too but not as much as naruto:|

3:villains: every villan has a reason for being evil and a backstory to back it up.

in one piece you're evil for the sake of being evil:vincent:

4:Logic: Naruto is a manga that try's to make sense of something that exist in this world but with overreaction
like the concept of chakra is more believable than a fruit.

Eh, it depends on the view. All you're going to do is attract One Piece fanboys by making this.

Oda doesn't really rush his story at any given point, but sometimes it is slow. Kishi has a trouble with pacing (sometimes too slow like now, and sometimes too fast at other points). I don't think either of them are better. I think Kishimoto manages to create more "badass characters" whereas Oda gives more depth to his side characters. They are equal to me.

I like that being evil for the sake of being evil. Naruto has too many sob stories, it gets annoying. I mean it's cool to do it to one or two characters, but so far all the villains for far are just heroes trying to do the right thing in a sinister way, Naruto needs those one-dimensional villains from time to time. But hey, who am I? This is just my personal opinion, discard it if you wish.

Both are good, people think it because Oda focus on side character as much as main character, and give power to the side character as much as the main with the main character is a little bit stronger of course, but in kishi he focus too much on the main and give them power beyond the side character.

But the whole "evil for being evil" complex is entirely one dimensional. For example; Nagato is absolutely amazing in his back story and why he turned evil for his intentions. It gives a sense of depth. And Orochimaru may or may not qualify as a one dimensional villain. We don't know if he turned evil because his parents died, but so far he hasn't tried to change anything as a by-product of that; just pure evil.

All I'm gonna say for right now before I address what you're saying: Naruto fans complain way more than OP fans. And usually, Naruto and OP share the same people as fans.

It seems to me that you are just downplaying the content of One Piece. I wouldn't say that Oda is better than Kishi cause that's just a subjective opinion that can be different for every individual. I'll say I like Oda better simply because I like his style of writing better but that doesn't making him better than Kishi overall.

And on the first point, strategy isn't as relevant as it used to be in Naruto, it's been all about who's stronger and more powerful with the whole Meteor/Susano'o/BM/Juubi stuff.

I know what you mean, but like it gets to the point where it's annoying. I mean I personally think that a story NEEDS one dimensional villains from time to time, in life you need to learn there's evil people out there. Everything can't be solved with words, and you can't always sway opinions.

I agree. Hence why I like Orochimaru so much. His merciless personality and just his overall view is just awesome. But Kishimoto displays the concept that "Evil is not born, it is made". It gives a sense of realism to his villains and a lot more depth. That's why I sympathize with him in that aspect a little more.

4:Logic: Naruto is a manga that try's to make sense of something that exist in this world but with overreaction

1. OP fights almost always have a deep reason behind it. There's rarely an OP fight that simply starts because some people feel like fighting. The story behind the OP fights, the reasons that OP fights happen are what makes them so enjoyable. And lately, Naruto has been "Big jutsu, meet my bigger jutsu". Or did you miss where Juubi was creating storms to clear out entire battlefields? Or Hashi's Bhudda? Or Madara's giant mountain busting Susano'o?

2. Because OP hasn't put stress on racism, ethics, discrimination, eugenics, war, poverty, corrupt politics, drug abuse, or freedom right? Naruto repeats the same themes throughout, OP has a new theme almost every arc.

3. The "villains" in OP do have a reason for being evil. Unlike Naruto, where the villains are usually for internal emotional reasons, a lot of the OP villains are there for external logical reasons. For example, any pirate crew that's looking for One Piece are potential villains because that's Luffy's goal. The Marines are opposed to Pirates because Pirates go against their ideals and it's their job to contest and stop them. And if there's anything OP lacks, it ain't backstory.

Also, as Doffy stressed during the Marineford War, there is no real concept of "good" or "evil" in the OP world. It's just different ideals cause people to clash and these clashes can determine the fate of the entire world. That's much better than simple good vs evil because it makes you think about who is truly right. If it was just plain good vs evil, you could say "Yeah, I want good to win." But when it's a clash of ideals, that simple one dimension thinking is thrown out the window. That's way more reflective of the real world than good vs evil. Does Naruto have that? yes, but not as much as OP.

4. Oda says he still has an explanation to Devil Fruits he has to reveal. He said a scientist will reveal, most likely Vegapunk, so there's going to be a scientific explanation for DF to come. So this is a bad argument.
