Chelsea also conceded 5 goals last season by spurs, the great Milan team conceded 3 goals in 15 minutes by Liverpool in an UCL final at that and many more cases, football doesnt work like that and that is why its the greatest sport.

Oh I think u misunderstood my words when I said " history for the second time" I never really meant that we are going to win the treble again this year, actually what I meant was that if we win the other 2 trohpies left we will make history for the second time, since we are the only team in history to win the sextuple one time in 2009 and it could be the second time if we do it in 2015 too which we are pretty close to.

Of those, only Maradona and Zidane (because the were healthy; otherwise R9 is on that level too) are on Messi's level. None of them are concretely better than him either. It's a really close thing.

Different positions entirely. Dinho and Zizou never had the entire team built around them. Messi has the benefit of always playing with world class players, having the entire team centered around giving him the ball, and he plays in the worst defending league in the world by a mile. It even puts the Premier league's shameful defence to shame. During the Copa America one of his opponent's said it best. The media around Messi and Ronaldo is probably more impactful on the way people play against them. He said players are more inclined to play passively against them just to say they played against them. Messi got completely shut down in the Copa America finals when it was way more physical. That never happens in La Liga. Stats are a tell tale sign of a great player, not saying Messi isn't. But please don't use that as a justification to put him above other players. Zidane single handedly carried France to a Euro Cup win and at 34 carried France all the way to a world cup final when he was past his prime. His dismantling of Brazil in 2006 at 34 was one of the greatest games I've ever come to witness. Saying he's not top 10 is absolutely disgraceful and you should be ashamed.

You also have to factor in that Dinho never had the team built around him and his European competition was AC Milan, Juve, Liverpool etc. When they had great defenders like Cannavaro, Nesta, Zambrotta etc. As much as I love Barca, Pique's complaining in the game was a joke and quite hilarious. He complained that the guy's elbow hit him when it clearly didn't.

But just like I said in my last post, I always think that the quality of defenders has deteriorated in last few years, typically after players like Cannavaro, Nesta, Ferdinand retired and now others such as Terry are in the later stages of their career.
I also think that media is responsible for this deterioration of defenders. They never get as much recognition as Ronaldo, Messi, Suarez and then we have others who criticize Mourinho for playing with defensive style and winning the league.
