Because he betrayed and abandoned his village Gaara may have killed people but he always did it as a Sand Shinobi. Sasuke attacked as a rogue ninja.

Plus when Gaara killed it was when he was a jinchuriki and crazy which is a situation he was forced into by the village. Sasuke couldn't handle his situation and made his choices, Gaara never chose to be the Jnchuriki.

Killing danzo was not a crime. Danzo already showed his true colors at the summit and having him as hokage would ruin the leaf and the relationships between villages. Danzo even wanted naruto underwatch and most likely confined. Danzo needed to die, simple fact

I am not a SASUKE FANBOY but these are the facts from the manga that describes Sasuke's road to redemption.
I mean as the title says Gaara KILLED WAY MORE INNOCENT PEOPLE and look at him now he's the Kazekage, why not Sasuke.

Keep in mind that Gaara's path to Kazekage was a gradual process and didn't happen in a week (so far as we know now).
In any case, if Sasuke is serious about this becoming Hokage business, then he has to work at it for a while. Hell, it's taken Naruto almost an entire lifetime and he still has yet to obtain the title.

Gaara and Sasuke situation are completely different, nor are they are comparable. Gaara did not kill people just because, Gaara when he was a child killed people because subconscious abilities of the Shukaku and that people fear the power of the tail beast. His own father told a big lie just to see if Gaara can gain control over the Shukaku, also later Gaara father hired assassins to eliminate him. Loosing his mother,his father lies, and not knowing of the truth of his uncle turn Gaara cold aloof person who kill anyone just prove his existence.


After first half of Naruto, Gaara work hard for 3 years to gain the title kazekage. Gaaras transition from a cold heart person to kazekage was well done. In my opinion Gaara had the best characterization in Naruto. Sasuke on the other hand was out of the blue(random) when Sasuke said he wants to become hokage. Because Sasuke in time skip flip flop a lot on what he wanted to do and his transition from bad guy to good guy SUCKED. Cause 1st hokage talked for like what 5 minutes, suddenly Sasuke change his mind(so much for Narutos job). Now Sasuke a good guy again whos wants to become hokage?! Are you kidding me?! Sasuke wants to become hokage, yet he does not care what his former teammates think of him? Sasuke does not DESERVE the title of hokage at all..

Gaara wanted to be someone important to the villagers, and thats the major difference between them.
Other than that, other than the kages themselfs, who did sasuke fight? He was only taking out the bad guys out of his own interest. There was a time with oroshimaru that he couldnt bring hinself to kill the shinobi that orochimaru gave him to practice with.

Think about it, in sasuke case, his parents were killed by his own brother who trick sasuke in to thinking he was evil. Gaara pain was his father trying to kill him with people that matter to him and told a lie about his mother never loving him since the day he was born. (basically the reason why his mother died)

If you want to be serious though, gaara was acknowledge through hard work, and never once has he try to kill his own sand ppl. (he might have told his brother he would, we both know he wouldn't) Sasuke try to murder Sakura.

Gaara was killing for hi own enjoyment, if he deserves to be Hokage then Sasuke should have his son taking the function, of course after Sasuke finishes his leadership
