Well the most obvious of its disadvanteges is the fact that it is chakra taxing, especially if you perform this technique by yourself. You essentially have to make 3 clones (-60), perform the technique (-70), and then in the case of this being used in a NW event you have the -20 per post/turn. So that is -130 and -20 each post afterwards. Then the barrier is open from above, if someone had an attack that could reach extreme heights(sky perhaps?), they could probably target those inside the barrier without actually having to go through the barrier itself. Then you can only mold up to A rank chakra so good luck being the one to fight tough opponents while maintaining this barrier, so its more likely that this will require you to depend on others to fight.

Upon that surface, a 2 meter diameter sealing formula circle of kanjis and markings spreads, activating the technique. Any enemy that makes contact with the formula becomes unable to mold chakra as the sealing technique drains his chakra and his stamina. If the enemy manages to escape the seal, he will recover use of his chakra.
Note: Usable twice per battle.
This allows you to form a sealing circle so that anyone that enters the vicinity have their chakra drained and unable to mold chakra.

I perform two handseals and then slam my hands on the surface of the ground. A circle with a 2 meter diameter appears. This circle is far from ordinary as it contains a sealing formula made of spreading kanji. If anyone else makes contact within the circle then they become unable to mold chakra.
This could be a detterent for those who prefer to fight close range, or could be used to trap the enemy. i.e I use a swamp expecting the enemy to enter short, range which would lead him toward the circle. In an rp setting the trap could be set and then covered with genjutsu. (Example the circle was placed around the Hokage's seat or something)
However I don't have to limit this to my current position. With the aid of a clone I can send the clone to set the seal in any advantageous place I see fit while I continue to pressure the enemy towards said seal/clone, or vice versa.

So bad. ;_;. I go the ol Konoha tatto parlor and keep an eye on Priest as I take off my shirt and inscirbe the seal on my body. The seals actually look pretty cool, but its kinda hard to not think about death while this markings are on my body. Hopefully he doesn't have to get into contact with any hit men.

This chakra tag causes chakra to flow towards that particular area, causing a disruption within the flow of chakra as well as making it harder to control chakra(adds -10 chakra to any jutsu that the opponent will use for 4 turns).
Note: This jutsu can only be used twice in battle.

I walk behind a stalker that I've had to deal with for quite some time now, and I place a tag on them that has the mark of confusion. When placed on the stalker the tag activates and burns into their skin ultimately effecting their chakra system by disrupting their chakra flow.
Since he was already struggling with his chakra I thought I would go ahead and slap another tag on this poor soul. This tag utilizes the illusion mark and prevents the stalker from using any genjutsu at all.
NOTE: I think both of these would best be used in an RP setting if you could get the target off guard. (Take him by surprise) It would be difficult to apply the tags in a battle and even if you
tried you would have to make it less obvious.
In regards to the genjutsu the seal probably disrupts the "direct sensory link" required to induce one in a genjutsu.

It could be used during taijutsu, since there would be touching here and there. Very useful aainst people like Lili Chwan but like you said, placing it would be difficult. If only you could make a low rank fuin cj where you can remotely place a fuin seal. Its just like using the air or chakra as a medium to place seals instead of making contact. Nice idea yes? Don't forget to teach me.
You are correct. Also, genjutsu needs you to be able to control chakra in an advanced manner. When you won chakra is not in good health or harmony, then you won't be able to cast genjutsu. The seal could be making sure your chakra can cross into the advanced manipulation line.

Once the Shinigami has grasped the opponent, he is completely immobile, although he can use weapons, summonings already existing, etcetera to try and kill the user before the technique completes. At the user's command, the Shinigami then performs the sealing, locking away the victim and the user's soul to battle for all eternity in the Shinigami's stomach.
Note: If used by the user himself, causes him to die.
Note: This technique can be used only a maximum of two times by clones, and once by the user himself.
With this seal, by sacrificing your own sould, you will be able to seal another. You will summon a shinigami after grabbing the tarGet and through you, the shinigami rips the soul of the target out. And yours too. Though you can use it via clones and not die.

A simple one where you make two clones before hand and all would assume a triangular formation around the target. Then by forming the ppyramidal barrier, you blow the target into bits.

Not wishing to sacrifice my own soul, I create a lowly clone who reluctantly performs the 9 handseals and then claps his hands at which point a shingami is summoned from behind him. The Shinigami has its left arm in prayer beads and the clone's soul becomes visible and bound to the Shinigami that thrusts its hand through the clones chest grabbing the.....robber across the street? Yeah...the robber gets grabbed and then gets his soul taken out of him. The clone cries as he gives the command to seal their souls away as they are locked in battle for all eternity...poor..poor clone.

I create two more clones and we run the triangle offense implemented by phil Jackson...no seriously we get in triangle formation around the pear tree....they must be destroyed. Using chakra we create a triangular pyramid around the tree which traps it, and soon explodes. The explosion sends what is left of the tree high into the sky unable to give the world evil pears, >_>
