Something really caught my eye in this latest manga chapter.. Kakashi said shi...(refering to tobi) before being cut off by gai.. So if its not obito it has to be someone with the letters shi on him

True. But if you use this thing called "NOBODY KNOWS WHO THE F**K TOBI IS" then you can come to the conclusion that we won't know for sure who Tobi is until it is stated in the manga.

I assumed it was Gai saying shi(t) due to being attacked, then saying kashi (short for kakashi) to snap him out of his pondering about Tobi's sharingan.

Notice Kakashi isn't saying anything, his thoughts are in black, Gai words in white speech bubbles. That or it could be a translation error?
That was Gai calling to Kakashi, but Kakashi only heard it in parts. I think they were in the same speech bubble.
OT: I have been thinking about this a lot, though I finally decided to put my thoughts onto this thread.
We know that Tobi has most likely Obito's eye, since we saw his MS, and his answer when Kakashi asked where he got it. He said he got it during the battle of Kannabi Bridge.
Now I started thinking. I started thinking about the Obito possibility, but it still doesn't make sense to me. I hear the argument that Obito could have used his Sharingan to go through the boulder, but that's where they lose me. Obito just recently unlocked his Sharingan, would he be able to use such an ability? Not to mention, if Obito was Tobi, why would he keep his one Sharingan constantly activated? I think Tobi is either using his eye, or maybe just the body. Which is why if we just see the face with no name, I'll just see until Tobi tells us his name. Not to mention, we saw part of his face when he fought against Konan, he looked like he was older than Kakashi, and Obito is around Kakashi's age. Tobi could be part Zetsu with Obito's body, and if Zetsu watched the war, then he could know about Kakashi, and the words Minato said.
Izuna is a very likely candidate, but what if he didn't die? What if there are seals that can be undone? Not seals like something that seals a soul, but a seal that seals the body away. What if Izuna was somehow sealed, but someone stumbled upon the seal and unsealed him? That could explain the age, since I don't believe they would age while sealed. He also had no eyes, so that could explain why Tobi never deactivated any of his eyes, because they were most likely transplanted. This could probably also explain if he's the Elder Sage. Maybe he sealed himself, hoping that a day can come where he can make his move. I'm not sure about it, because I can't seem to think why he would have a grudge against Konoha. Unless he was angry that the Uchiha were only a police force, and not actually in charge.
As for Kagami, I'm not sure how that would work out, since he wasn't mentioned much. I wouldn't see much of a reason to throw him in.
I'm thinking that it's either Izuna, or the Elder Son. I can't seem to think of any other theories. I know it's nothing special, and possibly said before, but I thought I'd share my theory anyway. I know that especially the Izuna theory is very unlikely. xd

Uchiha dont need to deactivate Sharingan, Uchiha with senju cells will never do this, cuz there have also a nice boost, and there chakra is not sucked away.
@ Netsui, im for sure that this Sharingan of tobi is his own. If it were transplanted, why did he hide a second one under his mask at fight with konan? We know he is an uchiha ~ Madara also constantly has had his sharingan activated even without fighting ~ With Senju & uchiha cells u can nearly acitvate ur sharingan 24/7. I think tobi just has it for safty reason, and sneak attacks, travling reasons & so on. We never saw him really going out without using his ability. Thats why he most likly is obito/obitos body~ He does not need to deactivate it ~

It was just a thought on Izuna. Though for Obito, it could be his body. I just don't think Obito himself would make sense either. There's the age difference from when we saw his face, and him hating Kakashi and Konoha. Not to mention the power difference after a year or two after Obito's supposedly death.
- We saw one shot of his corps lying on his death bed, who's to say he was revived by Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique.
- Short hair? Haircut?
- One of Tobi's greatest weapons are his knowledge and words, with that he tries to manipulate people and that's exactly what he is doing to Kakashi.
- Him talking about peace I can't explain, and it does remind me a lot of Obito but again that could be his brilliant acting skills. I just don't see why Obito would have a connection to Madara, become as powerful as he is, and not realize he is fighting against what he always wanted which is a joined ninja army.

People who Tobi can be in my mind
1. Zetsu clone of madara that also has senju dna... that madara made before he died to succeed in his plans even after death... maybe he even planned for tobi to use nagato to revive madara himself which is why madara first thought he got revived by nagato.

This has been my theory for months... i hope we are right... i dont know about using obito's body but im pretty sure tobi is a zetsu clone madara made... a special one...

He suspected that Tobi may have gotten a hold of Obito's eye, but then was shocked when Tobi says "At the battle of Kannabi bride..the battle where you got to be called the hero with the Sharingan." Why was he so shocked?
The only logical answer I can think of is that they went back to get his body, and actually buried it.
Also, when Kakashi thinks "That's not possible" to himself, he thinks of a grave as well, I wonder if that's Obito's.

There can be two explanations, Zetsu could have removed Obito from the rocks, then made a clone, knowing they might come back to give the body a proper burial, and wouldn't be all like...where he go? O.O
Or they took the body, and Zetsu removed it from underground, we see that Zetsu has the ability to become apart of the earth and such.
Anyways, just something I wanted to note.

I have no idea where i got this, but if i remember correctly they weren't able to bring back/ find?- the body.
They = would probably b tha Anbu?

1.shisui lost both of his eyes and tobi also don't have his eyes.
2.shisui lost his one hand to danzou and tobi also dont have one hand which we know when he himself deattach his hand while fighting fou and torune.
3.The hairstyle and height of tobi and shisui is same.
4.There are many people who think that shisui is dead but they are wrong because there is no reason which denies or refuse the existence of shisui.when a person is dead then the corpse of the dead person is the biggest proof but there is no corpse of shisui. kabuto revives the dead peoples and kabuto himself not able to revive shisui because of lack of dna which also means shisui is alive. The three uchiha said they found the suicide note of shisui but not his dead body. Itachi himself said to sasuke that he killed shisui in order to awake ms but now we will able to know that itachi is lying to sasuke and he used all things to manipulate sasuke. so i said it earlier that there is no reason which denies or refuse the existence of shisui which means that shisui exists.
5.Tobi controls the fourth mizukage yagura,now the only uchiha in history which can control the people like that is uchiha shisui because lady mizukage himself said to danzou when he used shisui's eye that there is some relation b/w the jutsu u use and the one which is used to control yugara. During this period shisui fought with A0 who knew his colour of chakras
6.Remember the most important thing is that tobi never comes in front of A0 because A0 knew shisui's chakra. At the five kage summit tobi comes in when A0 leaves and run after danzou. So A0 and tobi never face each other.
7.Akatsuki origins- tobi(shisui) himself tried to control and seal all the nine tail beasts but he fails which we know because he tries to control and seal the three tails which escapes to sea and he failed. tobi decided to form a organisation to seal all the nine tail beasts and kisame is the first member of akatsuki(except tobi and zetsu).
8.obito's eye- shisui lives in konoha so he may know kakashi and guy very well. so there are many ways by which shisui can get obito's eye but here i will demonstrate to you one of the easiest way. we know that shisui can enter other peoples mind and manipulate them and the person himself not able to know it. shisui may involve in a fight alongside with kakashi and guy. then shisui able to realise that kakashi sharingan possess special abilities like copying abilities etc.so shisui want to know how he got that sharingan then shisui simply enter into kakashi's mind and know it, kakashi is not even able to realise it that shisui entered his mind. 2.Age of shisui-the most important reason why peoples think that tobi is not shisui is that the age of shisui.Many peoples think that itachi and shisui are friends so the age of shisui is same as that of itachi. at the time of nine tail attack on konoha, itachi is six so shisui is also six years old. but in manga there is no proof of age of shisui. one can reread manga but there is no exact proof about age of shisui. If two peoples are friends then it does not mean that they are of same age.More important remember the three uchihas that came to itachi, one important thing i notice about them is that they called itachi a brat and have no respect for itachi in their heart. on the other hand the three uchihas respects shisui soo much and consider shisui most talented and most devotee to uchiha clan. the three uchihas even said to itachi that shisui is like elder brother to you so i have no doubt in my mind that shisui is older than itachi and it is self evident.
3.Intention of tobi:-Many people think that shisui is a good guy who can't do such things. Even itachi told naruto that naruto and shisui has same goals or ideals. But i think tobi is not that bad guy. Tobi don't want to rule the world. Tobi don't want to conquer the world. Tobi only wants peace shisui also wants peace.tobi(shisui) and naruto both wants peace but their way is different.

2.what the relation b/w tobi,nagato and madara?
3.why a0 knows shisui?
4. how shisui activate his ms?
