Whats interesting is the poll is almost a close tie between Izuna and Obito now XD hahah. Izuna had such a huge lead not too long ago.

I am officially done with thread for good, and I am throwing aside all of my counter-theories in the process. Yami, you can go ahead and count this as a victory, I no longer count out the Obito theory. Anyways, I'm just going to pay attention to the manga and see what happens, I'm done theorizing.

Yeah since it will most likely be revealed next week, I guess theories at this point is kinda meaningless.

He can't be Obito (though, imo, it's not unlikely that he's using Obito's body). First off, how the hell would Madara know Obito? Madara probably died before Obito was born. Secondly, when Tobi extraced the Kyuubi from Kushina (I believe it was in chapter 501), said something like "do you have ANY idea how long I've waited for this?" It has to be at least decades. The Kyuubi attack was like a year after the battle at the Kannabi bridge. Doubt Tobi would say what he did if that's how long he'd been waiting (IF Tobi is Obito, it's pretty safe to say he turned evil after that battle). Not to mention, how the hell could Obito have controlled the Mizukage, given Nagato the Rinnegan or spurred Yahiko to form Akatsuki? Though it could very well be Obito's face we see next chapter, Tobi's definitely not Obito.

I believe so too. if tobi is only obito, it wouldnt make sense.

People think obito is tobi cause of his sentimental dialogues kakashi shared with only rin and obito. If tobi has parts of zetsu he would know everything they said and wouldnt be a secret. Especially when zetsu can be anywhere he wants and one with the land itself.

Another contradiction from this chapter, Tobi says "I'm not afraid of some borrowed power" referring to Kakashi's Kamui.

I think he meant that in more general terms: Kakashi's power is borrowed from the Uchiha, not Obito specifically. I get the impression that Tobi somehow considers himself to be the embodiment of all Uchiha, and as such, he is entitled to all the sharingan and rinnegan in the world.

Tobi has Obito's eye, but he's not Obito. In Tobi's mind, it's not borrowed power because he's an Uchiha using the Uchiha's power.

tobi cant be obito..if u guys remember before the nine tail attacked the leaf village and during the birth of naruto..tobi attacked minato at that time..if tobi is obito..how come it can become an adult at that time? even kakashi is still a little kid at that time.

Like i said, the only way tobi=obito is possible is if:
1- his body got repaired with zetsu goop
and 2- Tobi was more than one person.

I'd say that Tobi is more than likely one person of the same family tree, a family dedicated to the ideals of Izuna and Madara. Madara said things aren't going according to plan. The plan could have been diluted as it was passed down from generation to generation. I believe and please don't flame or troll me for saying this, that the current Tobi is actualy Shisui Uchiha. The Tobi before him could have somehow gotten obito's other eye with the use of Zetsu. Considering that what I've seen is that some Sharingan jutsu can be passed from family member to family member this would be why they all have use of so many different abilities. Would also explain how Tobi knows so many Uchiha family jutsus because he had teachers who knew the techniques. Tobi wants the same thing as Naruto, for a world that no longer has to fight, just his way of doing so is to entrap the whole shinobi world inside an infinite genjutsu.

It would also explain why Tobi wanted Shisui's other eye, so that he would have one of his originals, and if he had one of Obitos then it would mean he could at least unlock one eye as an eternal, or that's just my theory. But, we shall see in either 599 or 600.

Also, for my basis on this theory. Page Three when kakashi is thinking back to the memorial, idk if the shi in that was a blurred out Guy trying to get his attention or if he was thinking about Shisui. Shisui's body was never found, he was also known to be able to use Body Flicker or Teleportation. What if he made itachi think he was dead while someone was waiting to implant Obito's eye. Again this is just a theory, but at this point it does seem plausible.

I think another thing that was confirmed this chapter was the fact that Tobi CAN'T use Rinnegan techs for whatever reason. This is probably why Madara entrusted him to give the eyes to Nagato, because Nagato could use them.

Regardless, it also says that Tobi is blatantly going against Madara's wishes by inserting the one Rinnegan as his left eye. He can't use it, and Madara was probably aware of that, so as you said, Tobi probably thinks of himself as an embodiment of the Uchiha and also, greater than Madara.

IMO the only one Madara would trust to transport the eyes and the only one who would consider himself better than Madara is his own brother. The only way Izuna would turn out this way (evil) is if Madara forcefully took his eyes or donated them but was promised that Madara would fulfill his wishes and bring the Uchiha clan to superiority (which he failed to do).

Izuna (in this scenario) would probably feel like Madara failed him and take up the mantle of the Uchiha clan's leader/savior for himself. Madara entrusted him with a plan, and in the end he decided that he'd become the Juubi's host himself (look at how much he's accomplished already!) and disobey Madara's orders ONLY after Madara had died.

This would explain why he was so scared upon seeing Madara revived as an Edo Tensei. He knows his brother could whoop his @$$ and only acted during the time when he was absent.

Remember how when Madara was initially revived via Edo Tensei, he spoke about expecting Nagato to revive him. Tobi (upon Pain/Nagato's death at Konoha) claims Nagato's Rinne Tensei was meant to be for HIM (not Madara) and we also know Tobi wants...

A complete body. Probably meaning that he wants the ability to use his MS again, the Rinnegan, and be considered a So6P in a sense similar to Madara (which he probably had a shot at before his eyes were taken). This leads me to believe that Izuna is in a predicament where he CAN'T use his power fully (possibly something to do with his body) and he resents it as much as he resents the Uchiha and his brother for stripping him of his entirety. From the guidebook here, it says loosing one's eyes as an Uchiha (whether they are given or taken) is the same as complete self-destruction.

Sorry for going off on a tangent xd but I'm 100% convinced Tobi is Izuna from what we've seen so far, and I'm standing by it even if I can't explain it 100%. To me, as long as this page exists, Tobi is Izuna.
