no if it was someone jiraiya didn knew about it was itachi so dont bother ..
i mean almost everyone knows each other but they are not aware of their powers.
If jiraiya did know itachi he could at least knew about his amaterasu .

I totally agree. It's about discussing (though a decent debate is hardly possible on NarutoBase), not the result. It can never be stated a 100% who would win a fight. The only person capable of doing so is Kishimoto.

Typical Minato fanboy,when nothing feat wise can be brough on the battle,they resort to hype,which is subjective and void of any possible way to make a comparison...and hype is depending on the characters role in the manga,it's not an actual way to judge the in a vs thread U_U

It's not the Op's fault if Minato fanboys over hype him even if Minato has little to none panel time on which to base their assessments on,so waht is left for them to do is speculate speculate and specualte again and again,and add feats and jutsus appliances which Minato hasn't shown
From what we've seen in the manga Minato vs Itachi wins for reasons that are obvious,but sadly Minato fans since they don't have nothing to counter itachis numerous feats bring in hype,which i already stated his subjective and can't be used to make an objective judgement

maybe you should read the manga from the start..a legend was told.... it was said there was a one brave shinobi that seal the 9 tail demon fox. that is the start of the story of naruto.. and that shinobi from the itachi fanboy would lose to a genjtsu in seconds lolzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Itachi definitely has the long range advantage compared to minato, whose justus are used mostly for short range.
His regular genjutsus can be cast at long range, and he has many ninjutsu that he has access to with his his sharingan.
His greatest disadvantage would be fighting in close range as minatos taijustu is formidable and he is much faster in both base speed and with FTG. He would eventually resort to using susanoo to gain some distance or to fight back, which will drain his chakra reserves quickly.
His only other way to combat him at close range would be to get into eye contact and use tsukuyomi on him, which is aslo very unlikely as minato will be too busy speed blitzing him at close range.
