Instantly, the ground to the sides of the opponent take the shape of huge jaws and attempt to crush and stab him between them. The size of the jaws can be adjusted to fit the size of the opponent or other uses.


Perform The Technique: Building up Doton chakra, I channel it towards my hands. Next, I perform the Ram→Horse→Tiger→Rabbit→Snake handseals and slam my hand on the ground. The chakra from my hand is transferred to the ground as the ground shakes violently as two jaw like structures rise from it and come together to crush the dummy.

Creative uses/strengths:

  • Pretty excellent for combos.Fast moving jutsu.
  • The jaws come together from both the flanks, hence making it difficult to escape for the opponent.
  • Falters the balance of the opponent and crushes him with immense speed.

    Description: The user after performing the required hand seals Ram → Tiger spits out high-viscosity, chakra infused water, aimed at a surface of wide scope. This is a stream of sticky liquid which can be used to form an adhesive trap that can inhibit a person's mobility. One can effectively reduce their enemy's area of activity with this technique, and has the effect of being able to take complete control over the battlefield. The normal scope of this technique is normally just a few metres, but if prepared, it is also possible to make an entire pond of starch syrup. Being caught in the technique can be avoided by channelling chakra to one's feet allowing one to walk upon it uninhibited, beforehand.

Drawbacks/counters:
  • Needs 5 handseals to perform.
  • Doesn't make the opponent fall down.
  • The opponent can take the aerial route and escape it, if he's fast enough.

Perform The Technique: Immensely concentrating on my energetic Doton chakra, I let it flow in my body. Controlling it nicely, I perform the Snake hand seal and I use my chakra to summon a cavern. The earth in the surrounding area rises up and forms a cavern, which imprisons the dummy.

Creative uses/strengths:
  • Essentially requires only hand seal to perform.
  • Can be used to suffocate the opponent by cutting off his oxygen supply by trapping him.
  • Fast acting jutsu.

  • If the opponent is fast enough, he can escape the jutsu by going high enough in the air.
  • Even if the opponent is trapped, he can use Hiding Like A Mole technique to go underground and come out somewhere else.

Description: The user performs the Ram hand seal and causes causes the ground and everything on and around it to be sucked in towards the middle of a large pit, much like the method an antlion uses to catch prey. Upon being dragged to the centre, the victim will then be sucked underground. There the victim, depending on how deep the user makes them sink, will be trapped and/or suffocated. The range of the pit is determined by how much chakra is put into the technique.


Perform The Technique: Increasing the flow of my doton chakra, I spread it across my body. Performing the Ram handseal, I let the doton chakra escape my body, as the dummy which is mid-range from me, gets sucked into the spiraling whirlpool around him.

Creative uses/strengths:
  • Very fast jutsu, which sucks the opponent in.
  • Requires only one handseal to perform the tech.
  • Covers a long range, hence being very effective.
  • An excellent combo would be:

    to blind the opponent and use Antlion tech to effectively suck him inside.
Drawbacks/counters:
  • The user has to keep focus on the antlion.
  • Effectively works in mid-long range only, as in short range, the user gets sucked in too.
  • The opponent can use a streaming wind jutsu targeted at the ground, to make himself go into mid-air, effectively escaping the tech.

Description: By performing the Tiger hand seal the user then makes a gigantic rampart rise up beneath the user's feet, by shaping the ground and increasing the amount of earth with chakra. Depending on what the user imagines, the shape of the rampart can be anything from level ground to a steep, needle-like mountain. If the user increases the volume of earth too much, he can be forced to keep his chakra consumption down. The user can combine this jutsu with Water Style: Waterfall Basin Technique to create a waterfall.

A very basic jutsu which can be used to manipulate the terrain to your will. The user after doing one hand seal will send earth chakra beneathe their feet to rise a very large rampart, it is pretty much like a large mountain which you can manipulate however you want. Its great to use to evade attacks and you can hide around the rampart and plan a snick attack. You will need to focus your chakra to make it rise so you can be left open.

Description: The user will first perform the Tiger → Hare → Boar → Dog and then creates a solid wall of earth as a form of defense. Chakra is either converted to earth within the body and then spat out to form the wall or the user can manipulate pre-existing earth to form the wall. The earth then instantly rises up and takes form. The barrier itself is also coated with chakra, making its strength incomparable to that of a normal mud wall. Because of the earth's special characteristics, the wall is highly resistant against, for instance, fire and water. Hizuren Sarutobi spits mud from his mouth to perform the jutsu whilst Kakashi creates a wall composed of bulldog sculptures to box-in Pain.

The user will perform the required hand seals and either spit out a mud base which rises out a hard wall or you can manipulate preexisting earth to release a wall to rise of regular size (3-5 meters). This wall is very dense and can protect against basic techniques with ease. Now their is not much to say about the wall due to its basis, but be sure that when you do rise the wall remember you will not be able to see through it, so you will most likely lose vision of the opponent.

(Doton: Iwagakure no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Hiding in Rock Technique

Description: This is a technique that allows its user to blend into rocks, move inside them and then move in and out of other rocks undetected. Despite this, Doujutsu and Sensors can still detect the opponent. The limitation of the technique is that it cannot be used to meld into other types of earth than rock or solid earth and its not a very fast technique, despite being faster than Underground Projection Fish technique.
Note: Can only blend through on C rank and below Earth Techniques

This though might not seem much is a great technique. The user is able to blend their being inside of rocks, both natural rocks and chakra based rocks made of C-Rank or lower. Now the opponent unless sensory type or dojutsu user will not be able to notice your position, you can easily do a snick attack with it, you can evade techniques using it. Also stake out with it, allowing you time to prepare for combos and plan attack. Great technique to give yourself sometime. If the opponent somehow figures out, be weary and anticipate that he will most likely use a raiton jutsu to kill you, since its very vulnerable.

Perform The Technique: Maintaining focus on my chakra, I close my eyes and keep an image of Earth in my mind, as I ascertain it's properties. Maintaining concentration, I nature manipulate my raw chakra into Doton chakra, as I feel the unusualness and roughness of the chakra flowing within me. I perform the Tiger hand seal, as I send my chakra towards my feet, which causes a large rampart to rise from the ground, carrying the dummy along with it.

Creative uses/strengths:
  • Can be used to perform a sneak attack.
  • As it's mentioned, a good combo is Waterfall Basin Technique.
  • The user can manipulate the terrain according to his will.
  • Is pretty great to evade attacks.
Drawbacks/counters:
  • The user is left open while focusing chakra.
  • Limits to only mid-range.
  • To create a mountain, the prep time is high, hence is generally used to create basic ramparts.

  • Because of the wall, the user can't see the opponent.
  • An Obito Uchiha bio can phase through this wall.
  • The user is vulnerable from all other sides except the front, as the opponent can take the aerial route and attack the user.

Perform The Technique: I gather my Doton chakra, building up just enough. Performing shape manipulation, I create C-Rank rocks with my chakra. Next, I channel my Doton chakra toward the rocks, as slowly I blend into them.

Creative uses/strengths:
  • The user gains time to think of and perform combos.
  • Successfully hiding in the rocks, the user can perform a sneak attack on the opponent.
  • The user can move in and out of the rocks undetected.
Drawbacks/counters:
  • The technique is pretty slow.
  • A sensory or a dojutsu user can figure out the user's position.
  • The opponent can use a piercing lightning tech to cut through the rock, and in the process, the user can be killed too.
  • The user can blend only through C-Rank rocks and lower.

Another basic technique, the user will do one hand seal and condense the mud or stone under the opponents location. After the ground is condensed, basically a second after the hand seal. A spear will protrude out of the ground at a very fast pace. The spear will pierce the opponent from below and send them into the air where they will be vulnerable. After you do the hand seal you can move onto the next jutsu.


(Doton: Iwayado Kuzushi) - Earth Style: Rock Lodging Destruction

Description: The user performs the required hand seals Tiger → Rat → Snake and they then causes a cave-in by destroying the equilibrium that holds the cave together. Just removing a single vital stone throws off the balance of the cave, making it unexpectedly fragile and causing a domino effect that destroys the entire cave. The shinobi from Iwagakure use this technique in their pride tactic, luring several enemies into a cave to kill them all at once.

After doing 3 hand seals the user will channel doton chakra throughout a cave and loosen it to an extreme extent. This will make the cave extremely sensitive and will begin to cave in the moment an opponent does a disturbance in the cave. This is a great jutsu to attack more then one opponent, trying to lure them in a cave by using a distracting or placing a shadow clone in a cave and have the opponent get in close to you, then you can easily make the cave, cave-in. The opponent(s) if caught will easily be severely hurt. The cave-in is like a Domino effect starting from one end and begins to fall everywhere through the length of the cave. This is a location based technique, if their is no caves in the area, its useless. This jutsu can work even in the largest of caves.


(Doton/Katon: Yodo Ranfunka no Jutsu) - Earth/Fire Release: Molten Earth Wild Eruption Technique

Description: The user will stomp the ground to lift of chunks of rock which he will then send at the opponent. Then, by using a fire style technique, he will cause them to ignite into burning rock chunks which explode on contact with the enemy.

This is a great projectile based technique and very simple as well. The user will send chunks of rocks (2-4) towards the opponent by stomping their feet on the ground and then send a stream of fire towards the rocks engulfing them in flames. This will have impact and burn effect, which means the opponent will be pushed back from the rocks as well as burned in the area hit. Its a nice jutsu to force the opponent in having to make a quick reaction. If the opponent tries douse the flames the rocks will still be their, its a very tough move to counter on your feet, best to use lightning. The rocks acts as base for the fire. Also the fire added to the rocks are apart of the move, so no need to perform a fire technique just channel katon chakra towards the rocks. You can aim this rocks towards anywhere at the opponent, note the more you send the weaker each are.

Perform The Technique: I focus on my chakra and perform nature manipulation on it, as I feel my chakra getting irregular, rough and dense. After gathering a good amount of Doton chakra, I perform the Bird Hand seal and channel my chakra below the dummy's feet. I perform shape manipulation to condense the Earth and rocks below it, such as to form a spear. The spear protrudes out of the ground with a high velocity and skews the dummy.

Creative uses/strengths:
  • Requires only a single handseal to perform, hence making it fast.
  • The spear is sharp enough to skew targets.
  • The spear can also send targets into mid-air making them vulnerable to attacks.

  • Feeling the Earth getting condensed, the opponent can push himself into mid-air.
  • An opponent may pass Raiton through the ground, hence neutralizing the spears.
  • Mokuton users can lift themselves into air by channeling chakra below their feet.

  • This jutsu has the capacity to kill the opponent, if used properly.[*[Works in the largest of caves.
Drawbacks/counters:
  • The user needs to be outside the cave to avoid himself from getting trapped in his own technique.
  • Doesn't work in areas without a closed Earth structure, hence terrain plays an important factor.
  • The user has to lure the opponent into the cave beforehand.

Next, I build up my chakra as I keep an image of a flame in my mind, while thinking of it's properties, as I feel my chakra getting superhot, giving me a sense of warmth. As my chakra is converted into Katon chakra, I channel it towards my mouth, wherein performing shape manipulation, I release it in the form of a stream towards the rocks, engulfing them in flames. The burning rocks hit the dummy and burn it.

Creative uses/strengths:
  • Pretty great projectile technique.
  • Even if the opponent counters the flame with a water jutsu, the rocks are still left to deal with.
  • Forces the opponent to make a quick reaction.
  • If hit, the opponent gets burnt as well as is hurt due to the impact of the rocks thrown at him.
Drawbacks/counters:
  • More no. of rock chunks = more weaker.
  • The opponent can use lightning to overpower the rocks.

    Description: After doing the Rabbit → Dog → Boar → Ram → Rat hand seals, the user generates a large amount of lightning from their hands, which can then be either released in an unfocused manner or passed through conductive materials to improve the electrical power of the technique, namely in conjunction with Water Techniques. In fact, certain users have showed that its possible to, if the user has the ability to mold both Water and Lightning chakras at the same time (for example, Darui who has Storm Release), unleash this particular technique at the same time as they exhale/spit some water technique (which needs to consist of a stream of water), combining both in a seemingly consecutive move. Other ninjas will need to use a clone or an ally for the same effect.


    The lightning overpowers the rocks and Suiton overpowers the flames.

(Doton/Raiton: Denki Iwabashira) - Earth/Lightning Release: Electric Rock Pillar

Description: The user will make a set of four hand seals and then will place their hand on the ground to create a pillar of earth to rise up from the ground. This pillar is then given a electrical charge that causes electric bolts to be emitted from the pillar up to short range from the pillar, shocking any targets in the vicinity.

This is a different jutsu we are used to in the doton list. The user will quickly rise pillars from the ground by placing their hands on the ground. The pillars are able to send a electrical charge of lightning bolts towards the opponent. The pillars can be created short-mid range and the lightning bolts move short range from where the pillars are made. You can make more then one pillar but that means the lightning bolts become weaker (2-4 pillars). It is great to set up a defense, but you have to focus your chakra on the pillars to send the bolts. The pillars are also sharp enough to stab the opponent and then shock them.


(Doton: Ukiwagan no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Floating Ring Rock Technique

Description: The user focuses his chakra and channels into the earth to create 2 large floating rock cubes 2 meters squared. The cubes rotate around the user to either defend him from incoming attacks (he needs to direct them using hand movements towards the attack and each cube has a C-Rank strength) or, through using the momentum created by the rotation, be flung at the enemy with incredible speed.

Okay the user will summon large floating cubes (2), that are 2 meters squared from the ground to revolve around the user acting as a barrier to attacks and then the user will send the cubes towards the opponent. This is the type of jutsu that kills two birds with one stone. You can though use it for just defense or attack, mainly depending on the situation your in. The more cubes you make the weaker each are, they act as a push type attack. When you send it towards the opponent, it will try to push them back and brake some bones. I like how it reaches all ranges and after you send the cubes they become projectiles. Also you must be on the ground to use this jutsu and send the rocks towards the opponent with hand movements after sent its projectile.


(Doton: Tetsu Keimusho no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Iron Prison Technique

Description: After first performing the required hand seals Ram → Dog → Rat the user then places their hand on the ground. This causes a circular arena to surround the target, spanning 15 meters around him and being 4 meters high. The floor, the walls and the ceiling are all chakra reenforced and the user can also lock himself inside if he so pleases. If these prison receives any damage above C-Rank, they disappear in a puff of smoke.

An interesting technique. After performing the hand seals and placing hands on the ground the user will summon a very large 4 meter tall wall which acts as an arena that surrounds the user and opponent. Its 15 meters long, making it long range. The wall are very weak and a basic attack towards them will disperse the walls. This is great to alter the terrain in your favor depending on how the opponent and yourself is using it. Its good to stop an opponent from pushing back to evade your attacks. They are virtually going to be trapped and unable to move around freely. You get an even higher advantage if you are faster then the opponent. It can also break the opponent away from resources he/she might depend on, like a water source if they are a hardcore water user.

Description: The user will make a set of four hand seals and then will place their hand on the ground to create a pillar of earth to rise up from the ground. This pillar is then given a electrical charge that causes electric bolts to be emitted from the pillar up to short range from the pillar, shocking any targets in the vicinity.


Perform The Technique: I build up raw chakra in my body. Focusing on it, I nature manipulate it to Doton chakra, as I feel the roughness of the chakra emanating within me. I perform a string of 4 handseals, after which a pillar of Earth rises up from the ground. As it rises up, it emits lightning bolts towards the dummy in front of it.

Creative uses/strengths:
  • Basically, is a great defensive tech.
  • Sends lightning bolts towards the opponent, disturbing the cells in his body and shocking him.
  • The pillars created are sharp enough to stab the opponent.
Drawbacks/counters:
  • Requires a string of 4 handseals to perform.
  • Extends only upto mid range.
  • More the no. of pillars, more the weaker they are.
  • The user requires to focus chakra towards the pillars to send the lightning bolts.

Description: The user focuses his chakra and channels into the earth to create 2 large floating rock cubes 2 meters squared. The cubes rotate around the user to either defend him from incoming attacks (he needs to direct them using hand movements towards the attack and each cube has a C-Rank strength) or, through using the momentum created by the rotation, be flung at the enemy with incredible speed.


Perform The Technique: Focusing on my doton chakra, I channel it into the Earth. Performing shape manipulation, I create 2 large floating rock cubes, which are 2 meters squared. I control it in such a way that it rotates around me. Using my hand movements and precise control, I direct them towards the dummy as a thrown projectile.

Creative uses/strengths:
  • Has both defensive and offensive capabilites.
  • No limit on range extension, i.e. it extends upto all ranges.
  • Requires no handseals to perform.
  • They act as projectiles when thrown, so deal quite some damage when used offensively.
  • A good combo would be another projectile tech: Mokuton: Sashiki No Jutsu, as if the rings are deflected or countered, then the wood spikes can impale the opponent, also given that they multiply inside the opponent's body.
Drawbacks/counters:
  • The more the cubes, the weaker the offensive capablity.
  • The user has to be on the ground, to perform this tech.
  • The user has to control the cubes with his hand movements if he uses them as projectiles, so it makes the user vulnerable to other attacks.
  • Some counters I could think of, are: Earth Release: Earth Shelter, Earth Release: Earth Dome and Earth Release: Earth Style Rampart, as all these are excellent defensive jutsus, and can be performed with almost no to one-two handseals.

This causes a circular arena to surround the target, spanning 15 meters around him and being 4 meters high. The floor, the walls and the ceiling are all chakra reinforced and the user can also lock himself inside if he so pleases. If these prison receives any damage above C-Rank, they disappear in a puff of smoke.


Perform The Technique: Gathering Doton Chakra, I perform the Ram→Dog→Rat handseals, after which I place my hand on the ground which forms a large circle like shape on the ground. Using shape manipulation, I make an arena rise which is 4 meters high and 15 meters wide.

Creative uses/strengths:
  • Can prevent the opponent from escaping.
  • Extends upto long range.
  • The user can alter the terrain according to their will, which is a disadvantage to the opponent, if they would depend on any terrain(like a water source, etc).
  • If the user is faster than the opponent, then he has an upper hand.
  • Nice combos: Earth Release: Dropping Lid and Earth Release: Devouring Earth in succession to first, trap the opponent, and then crush him.
Drawbacks/counters:
  • The arena is pretty weak and disappears easily.
  • Needs a string of 3 handseals to perform, and the arena takes time to rise, hence the opponent can easily escape.
  • The opponent can be airborne and push himself out of the terrain.
  • As the arena is pretty weak, I would use: Lightning Release: Electric Attack as it extends to long range as well as easily damages the arena.

Basic technique, after the opponent does the hand seals and slams their hands on the ground, earth will begin to violently jag up from the ground and erupt towards the targets feet like a stream, meaning you must keep your hands on the ground until it gets to the opponents feet. Now when it reaches the opponent rocks will begin to jag up and hit the feet on the opponent injuring them and hurting their speed, they will also lose balance at the same time most likely falling to the ground. The tear through the earth travels very quickly. Also you can anticipate the opponents evasion will be to jump up into the air so using a above attack as a combo would be good. It takes some time to perform. Its basic in its abilities but can be put to good use.

Its a basic projectile technique very fast to perform and simple. The user will rise a rock from the ground which from their you can use as a shield and/or attack the opponent with it as a projectile making it combo friendly. Its most noticeable abilities is it moves a long range and its fast moving as well. Other then this its quite basic and simple. The rocks spin fast and can seriously harm an opponent. Its very fast moving as well.


( Doton: Shonyuseki ) - Earth Release: Stalactite

Description: The user manipulates their chakra creating three huge rocks infront of them. The user will then unleash the three huge rocks coming from three different angles from infront of the enemy to smash into each other causing segements to start protruding from the collision and damaging the opponent.

Another pretty simple jutsu, the user will summon 3 huge rocks that are larger the the user and send the rocks as projectiles towards the opponent. You can send the rocks however you want which makes it handy its a quick jutsu and is great to use with combos. The rocks have the force to crush the opponents bones as well as push them back. A note is though the jutsu itself is B-Rank, each rock is C-Rank power so be weary of that.

Performing shape manipulation, I alter the ground's properties, which start tearing and splitting it. It extends upto mid-range with speed and throws your clone off balance.

Creative uses/strengths:

  • The opponent loses balance.
  • Neutralizes the speed of the opponent and injures his feet.
  • The tear through the Earth travels quickly.
  • As this would cause the opponent to go in mid-air I would use Katon: Goryuka No Jutsu to create Fire Dragons which burn the opponent as well as prepare thunder clouds to finish the opponent with Kirin.
Drawbacks/counters:
  • Requires time to perform.
  • The opponent can anticipate the attack, as the ground's surface is altered.
  • The user needs to place his hand on the ground, until the stream of Earth reaches the opponent's feet.
  • Mokuton No Jutsu easily counters it, as the user can make himself go higher.

Using my doton chakra, I manipulate the rock and debris by making it rotate violently, like a fast spinning disk. Using precise control, I fling it at the dummy with tremendous speed.

Creative uses/strengths:
  • Simple and basic to perform.
  • Requires no handseals to perform.
  • The projectiles have tremendous speed and power.
  • No range limitation as it extends upto long range.
  • Is combo friendly.
  • A long range fire jutsu such as Katon: Goenkyu would be a good combo along with the thrown rotating debris, as the opponent has chances of even getting burnt.
Drawbacks/counters:
  • Doton: Doryuheki would easily stop the attack.
  • A dome made of Mokuton or Doton also stops the attack.
  • Raiton: Gian Yari can counter this technique as it cuts through the rock projectiles.

  • The projectiles have great crushing power and speed.
  • The rocks also have the ability to push back the opponent.
  • Raiton: Fangs Of Lightning is a good combo as it's fast and has the ability to electrocute the opponent severely.
  • Simple to perform.
Drawbacks/counters:
  • Each rock has only destructive capability only upto C-Rank.
  • As before, Earth Armor/Earth Wall/Mokuton dome can easily block the attack as the rocks have only C-Rank power.
  • Doesn't work in long-range.

A very powerful defensive technique. The user will slam their hands on the ground and use the earth up front of them to rise not into jutsu one, but multiple walls. You are able to summon up to 6 large walls. This is a great technique to use for jutsus that are very powerful, it can slow down the pace of the jutsu allowing you time to recover or evade more properly. The walls are of large size. Its great to stop projectile based attacks as well as streaming. After you summon the walls to either stop or slow down the attack you can evade without hesitation. The walls also rise fast consecutively. Drawbacks include you will not have a any vision of the opponent when summoning the walls for they block your vision.

Perform The Technique:I proceed to close my eyes and calm down my mind, trying to get in tune with nature. Gradually my mind slows down, as I gather chakra in my body. This makes me feel lively, as I feel the rush of chakra in my body, trying hard to break through the 361 points. As I've built up enough, I visualize an image of Earth, keeping it's properties in my mind. Once done, I convert my chakra into Doton chakra. Next, I nature manipulate my Doton chakra into Earth, and slam my hands on the ground sending my chakra toward it, and performing shape manipulation on it, which causes several walls to rise, upto 6 of them.

Creative uses/strengths:
  • Requires no handseals to perform.
  • Excellent for defense purposes.
  • Gives the user time to think of a counter.
  • Easily stops projectiles hurled at the user.
  • If the outer walls are pierced through, the inner walls are intact, giving the user the time frame to attack/escape the enemy's attack.
  • The walls rise up with tremendous speed.
  • Since these walls are a higher rank than their counterpart, Doton Doryuheki, they have more bearing capacity and extra hardness to them.
  • Pretty great for stealth purposes, i.e. more precisely when Doton: Moguragakure No Jutsu is used after hiding behind the massive Earth Wall, i.e. once the user hides behind the wall, he can use this jutsu to go underground and appear near the enemy, leaving the enemy dazed.
Drawbacks/counters:
  • Due to being tall and large in size, they block the vision of the opponent to the user.
  • They have no offensive uses, they are purely used for defensive purposes.
  • A-S-Rank lightning attacks when used with a shadow clone pierce the wall like False Darkness, etc.
  • A-S-Rank Mokuton can also break through the walls, as A Rank Mokuton>A Rank Earth.

This technique is a combination of the Summoning Technique and an Earth Release technique. The user summons a large amount of rock from a giant canyon which, during the process of being summoned through this technique, he shapes into a design he outlined previously in a scroll. This allows the user to change the topography of the map and create any earthen feature he needs from pillars to gorges, canyons, mountains or simply plains. If the user wants to or is defeated, the alteration ends as any summon eventually does. Additionally he can use (Doton: Dimenshon Fuudo Shihai) - Earth Release: Dimension Topography Control at any point to change the design and alter the summoned terrain.
Note: can only be used once per battle

A very nice jutsu indeed. You will take out a normal scroll, do some hand seals and bite your thumb. After that you will place your hands on the scroll and summon a huge chunk of rock from a canyon. While summoning the user will mold that canyon rock into anything they desire from it that is possible. This includes caves, mountain, large pillars, or even a huge rock plain. This can only be used once in battle. Their is many creative things you can do. You can summon a mountain behind the opponent restricting his range, this is great to get close to him. You can summon a rock on a water source blocking it, so a water expert will be without his greatest tool. Its performance is dangerous for its a little slow but the summon is as quick as a regular summon. Its a very efficient jutsu which you can alter the terrain in your favor and have complete control of the battle.


(Doton: Dimenshon Fuudo Shihai) - Earth Release: Dimension Topography Control

This goes hand in hand with the technique Earth Style: Wheel of Fortune. Basically after doing two hand seals and slamming their hands on the ground they will control the change of the terrain they did to whatever is possible. So an example could be if you summoned a mountain, using this jutsu you can change it into a cave. You can switch its position as well. The control and change happens at normal speed and is very efficient to change the terrain. This controls the area at your will making it a brilliant technique and what of the very useful techs. You can only change them up 3 times in battle.

Creative uses/strengths:
  • The user has the choice of shape manipulating and forming whatever he wants, basically, rocks, mountains, pillars, etc.
  • The wide range of possibilities act as an advantage to the user, as it can be used for defensive purposes, as well for offense.
  • The user can alter the terrain in his favor and manipulate the terrain in such a way, that it puts the opponent into a big disadvantage, blocking his jutsus, and what not.
  • The best combo would be to use (Doton: Dimenshon Fuudo Shihai) - Earth Release: Dimension Topography Control to further manipulate the terrain.
  • The attacks can extend upto long range, which plays as a great advantage to the user.
  • Best used when the opponent is in a genjutsu/or binded beforehand.
Drawbacks/counters:
  • The summoning and manipulating process is slow.
  • As all summons, once the user is defeated, the summon disappears.
  • The user can only use it once per battle, so it has to be used very carefully.
  • Well, the counters depend upon the type of terrain summoned/manipulated.
  • As it's a slow tech, the opponent can quickly bind the user and finish him off, before he finishes preparing the jutsu.
  • Along with the summoning and manipulating time, the no. of handseals also make the tech additionally slower.

Creative uses/strengths:
  • The control and change of the jutsu, happens at a normal speed, and is quite useful for manipulating the terrain according to the user's will.
  • This is kinda a good jutsu to catch the opponent off guard, i.e. if the opponent uses a counter for destroying a cave, then the cave's position can be shifted or it can be manipulated into a mountain.
  • This is pretty useful for defense, as if the opponent attacks the user, the user can just switch the position of the summoned earth or manipulate it into something gigantic and stronger that it protects him properly, for eg: if the opponent uses a C-Ranked lightning tech to destroy the cave, and pierce through it, then the cave can be molded into a mountain, increasing it's strength and durability(not sure if the c-rank thingy is correct tho, just came from my imagination >_>).
  • Requires only two handseals to perform and is quite quick.
Drawbacks/counters:
  • The user can only change the design only 3 times in a battle.
  • If the opponent is mid-air, then the jutsu is rendered useless.
  • A quick lightning attack with no handseals easily stops the process of the switching/manipulating.

The only slow part about Wheel of Fortune is drawing on a map to show how you want the new layout to look; the summoning actually happens pretty fast. When Noni was talking about "performance", he was basically just talking about how long it took to draw what you want it to look like and then form the handseals; both of which can be done in a reasonable amount of time for a fight. And if the opponent is mid-air, you can still change the terrain; these techniques are more supplementary than offensive.

(Doton: Iwa no Goremu) – Earth Release: Stone Golem

Description: The user expels a large creature composed of stone from his mouth. The rock golem has a fair amount of stamina and brute strength, being able to bite and tear off flesh with its mouth and hands respectively. If used from above the target then the user can use the earth golem to drop down onto the opponent like a bomb and crush them. The golem can also devour earth structures and other enemy attacks, biting and chewing on it.

A very powerful technique. The user will spew out doton golem straight out their mouth. This technique can be used anywhere at any time with very quick execution which makes it a very handy technique. The user will constantly send chakra towards the golem which in turn controls the golem's movement. You can virtually do anything with the Golem, you can send it towards the opponent as a distraction, or even with force as a projectile based attack. A draw back includes the golem requires a solid base for movement, also you must remain concentrated towards the golem. I think its best to have a clone control it before hand. The golem is not the fastest runner but it has serious strength it can easily break bones with a punch and lift heavy things.


(Doton: Yomi Numa) - Earth Style: Swamp of the Underworld

Description: The user will first perform Boar → Tiger and then by changing the surface of an object beneath an enemy into mud and creating a non flammable swamp, the user can sink his enemy into the mud. The adhesive, chakra-infused mud ensnares the enemy's body, making it almost impossible to recover one's strength and escape from the swamp. The size and depth of the created swamp depends on the user's skill and the amount of chakra used, but if the user is an expert in this technique, it will always be possible to make a fair-sized swamp which is extremely effective against a great number of enemies or when having to face gigantic creatures.

Another one of my most favorite jutsus. The user after performing two hand seals will summon a mud swamp made of the same type of mud adhesive that is very sticky as well as non-flammable. You can summon the size of the mud however you want. The mud is mixed with your chakra so it will constantly sap away the opponents strength so staying in to long can knock you unconscious. The mud can easily take on more then one enemy as well. Its a great ground attack and simple to summon taking almost no time to appear. It has no serious attack ability but if you sink into the mud you will suffocate to death, this jutsu is very combo friendly as well. Its great for distraction play as well as anticipation. Lastly if you are caught the best jutsus include water jutsus that shoot you upward for evasion or even nagashi to negate the mud so you can walk through it.

Perform The Technique: I build up raw, unmanipulated chakra in my body and focus on it, constantly thinking of Earth's properties, rough, hard, uneven, and unpredictable, as I convert my raw chakra into Earth chakra. I then channel my chakra towards my lungs, and just before spewing it out, I shape manipulate my chakra to form a stone golem, which I spew from my mouth.

Creative uses/strengths:
  • Requires no handseals.
  • Quite quick to perform.
  • The golem can be sent towards the opponent as a distraction or as a projectile based attack.
  • It has brute strength and the capability of biting off flesh with just it's hands.
  • The user can also lift things with it and also drop it off from above like a boulder, instantly crushing the bones of the opponent and damaging him badly.
  • I feel a good combo would be to trap the opponent beforehand using Earth Flow Wave and then drop the stone golem on him from above, crushing him.
Drawbacks/Counters:
  • The user needs to constantly send chakra towards the golem, due to which he is vulnerable to other attacks.
  • The golem needs a solid base for movement.
  • It doesn't travel with the fastest speed and is only limited to short range.
  • A nice counter would be to use Lightning Release: False Darkness to cut through the golem after which the attack continues toward the opponent, killing him.

Description: The user will first perform Boar → Tiger and then by changing the surface of an object beneath an enemy into mud and creating a non flammable swamp, the user can sink his enemy into the mud. The adhesive, chakra-infused mud ensnares the enemy's body, making it almost impossible to recover one's strength and escape from the swamp. The size and depth of the created swamp depends on the user's skill and the amount of chakra used, but if the user is an expert in this technique, it will always be possible to make a fair-sized swamp which is extremely effective against a great number of enemies or when having to face gigantic creatures.


Perform The Technique: As before, I gather raw Earth chakra and perform the Boar → Tiger handseals in conjunction. I then summon a swamp of adhesive, non flammable and sticky mud below the opponent's surface. This causes the opponent to be trapped by the mud. The mud slowly drains his chakra, as he tries hard to get out of it. I then use Raiton: Raikiri to instantly cut through his heart and murder him.

Creative uses/Strengths:
  • The mud drains the chakra of the opponent, which makes it difficult for him to escape it.
  • An Earth Release expert can summon a large swamp, which has the ability to trap multiple enemies and gigantic creatures.
  • The summoning is quite fast in it's appearance and acts instantly.
  • This has no serious offensive use, but can kill the opponent, if he stays trapped for long enough, as he suffocates to death.
  • A nice combination attack would be to use something that could easily kill the opponent, like Kenjutsu, Raiton: Raikiri or Exploding Tags. Someone who likes performance based attacks, could use Kirin to finish off the opponent, if the opponent is trapped long enough.
Drawbacks/Counters:
  • It doesn't have any serious offense abilities.
  • It can easily be negated by using Nagashi surge.

One of my favorite jutsus. After doing the hand seals the opponent will create a small wall, a normal sized one that is slightly larger then the user. The user will then punch the ground or manipulate the wall to release a large amount of mud to slide off of the wall straight towards the opponent. Its a great jutsu to use for defense as well as attack at the same time. Its sheer size can cause terrain damage and make the area into mud. The crash is powerful enough to push the opponent back and seriously break some bones. Its great to use to stop large summons as well. Its a simple jutsu to create but it takes some time for the mud to fall off. The wall raises normally. Lastly you must be on the ground.

Description: The user will manipulate their chakra to create the earth infront of them to turn to a lose like quality by slamming his hands on the ground to create a landslide that is directed towards the enemy target in the form of a wave of earth.

A basic tech but is pretty nice. The user will quickly, with no hand seals manipulate the earth upfront on them to loosen its quality almost making it more softer. With a slam of the hands on the ground they will manipulate the ground to quickly form into a wave of tough debris and mud which creates almost a landslide which is sent towards the opponent like a wave of earth. It has the destructive property to easily cut and push down trees with ease and still continue forward. Its a very fast moving technique, hard to evade. Its also location based, its best to use in a forest. Its a loud technique so not so good for snick attacks neither.

Perform The Technique: I build up raw chakra in my body, as I feel it trying to escape my 361 points in my body. It makes me feel energetic and alive. Then, as usual, I convert my raw chakra into Doton natured chakra and perform the Dog → Ram → Boar handseals in conjunction, sending my chakra toward the ground, which causes a small Earth Wall to rise, slightly taller than me. I then manipulate the Earth Wall so as to release a landslide of mud from it which rushes towards the opponent, drowning him in it, crushing his every single bone in the body, inflicting massive pain to him.

Creative Uses/Strengths:
  • The mud has the force to push back the opponent easily and push back massive summons.
  • It also has the power to crush the bones of the opponent and alter the terrain.
  • Defensively, it's also excellent as it can negate oncoming attacks like Water streams or Fire streams, swallowing them completely.
  • A good combination would be to use Fuuinjutsu to seal off the opponent or drop a Stone Golem on him, instantly killing him, as the mud itself would crush the bones beforehand.
Drawbacks/Counters:
  • It takes quite some time for the mud to appear.
  • 3 handseals are required which also increases the performance time.
  • Also, the user needs to stay on the ground to create the wall and release the mud.
  • The user can negate the technique by sending lightning towards it.
  • The only counter I can think of is to destroy the Earth Wall itself and prevent the mud from forming. A very powerful Water Wave or S-Rank Lightning would easily destroy the wall as well as go forward and hit the opponent himself.

I then slam my hands on the ground, sending chakra towards it in the process, making the Earth lose it's hardness by loosening it, as I use my chakra to form loosened debris of Earth which I direct towards my opponent in form of a landslide. The massively powerful landslide lands upon the opponent like a wave, as the force crushes his body.

Creative Uses/Strengths:
  • This has no handseals to perform.
  • Pretty quick to perform and difficult to evade.
  • Massive destructive force which can crush bodies and overpower Water Waves and Fire Waves by swallowing them.
Drawbacks/Counters:
  • Is purely location based, and can be only used in a forest/mountainous ranges.
  • Very loud in it's occurrence so not useful in NW wars.
  • I guess this can be defended simply by targeting wind at the ground, hence pushing oneself upward, or using a Mokuton or Doton pillar to make oneself rise up and avoid the technique.

Description: This jutsu causes gigantic pillars of rock to forcefully emerge from the ground. This is a even greater scaled Earth Release: Rising Spikes and is large enough to impale a summoning technique.

A simple but quite the effective jutsu indeed. The user will summon a gigantic pillar of rock to forcefully emerge from the ground around any location the user desires. Its quite the large jutsu and difficult to evade when it begins to emerge. It makes a loud noise as well as the ground will become dense signalling it rising so that can be a window of evasion. Its great to use for combos to attack in all flanks of the opponent. If the opponent is caught the will be hurt as well as launched in the air with force, mid-air they are left vulnerable and open for attacks. Its a great jutsu to use against summons and is tall enough to attack an opponent air-borne. The pillar when it begins to rises is very fast as well as while it rises you can go onto the next tech. Simple evasions as well as cracking the large pillar using lightning would be best.

Description: The user slams his hands on the ground and lowers or raises the ground in the surrounding area at high speeds, allowing them to create giant holes in the ground or avoid attacks. The size of the affected area as well as the depths that it is lowered to is up to the user and rasing earth can be done up to 20 meters tall creating a small cliff or they can create trenches that can be as deep as 20 meters. Other than being moved below ground relative to the surrounding surface the terrain is not altered, plant life and people retaining their same positions.

Okay this is a handy jutsu indeed. The user will have complete control of the ground and will be able to raise or lower the ground by 20 meters. With it you can create walls to block attacks or evade them. You can capture enemies by lowering the ground. Also a note is in the manga when used against Madara he actually stumbled due to the sudden rise of the ground, so you can easily catch an opponent off and have a clone or ally send an attack making life difficult for the opponent. You can alter the terrain as well with it. It has no serious offensive abilities but its main purpose is the supplement yourself in battle. Also for every time you move the ground it counts as a turn so be weary. Also by the time the ground fully erects it will take several seconds. (3-5s) depending just how high you set it. 20 meters is the limit but you have control just how long you want to raise it.

Perform The Technique: I build up raw chakra in my body and harden it while thinking of the raw properties of unmanipulated Earth's surface, as I convert my raw chakra into Doton based chakra. Then, I perform nature manipulation on it, forming Earth chakra, as I send my chakra towards the ground, summoning very large destructive pillars which emerge from the ground, drastically changing the Earth's terrain over a large area, almost sounding like an explosion.

Creative Uses/Strengths:
- Requires no handseals to perform.
- Has a very high destructive capability creating a large explosion
- Launches the opponent into mid-air making him vulnerable to attacks as well as it damages his legs due to the massive force with which it rises
-The pillar rises very fast
-Pretty excellent to attack summons
-Once the opponent is launched in mid-air I would use a mid ranged tech like False Darkness to finish him off.

Drawbacks/Counters:
-It makes a very large noise, signalling that the attack would take place.
-Similarly to the above, the ground becomes dense which makes the opponent aware of the attack and the counters required.
-S-Rank Lightning sent into the ground would negate the technique and destroy the pillars in case they rise.

-It can be used for defense as well as for trapping the opponent underground.
-Extends uptil long range.

Drawbacks/Counters:

-It takes 3-5 secs for it to take place, so it can be evaded easily.
-The Earth can be raised only upto 20 meters.
-Has no offensive abilties whatsoever.

(Doton: Kajugan no Jutsu): Earth Style: Added Weight Rock Technique

Description: The user will perform the Snake handseal and touch a given target (he needs to use his hands in most cases but can release the technique through his whole body if needed) for a small time frame. Upon doing so, he'll use the earth chakra to increase the weight of the target drastically. The technique can increase the targets weight up to 10 times. One interesting side effect of the technique is that when its used on wood based techniques (such as Zetsu's spore clones or normal wood), the infusion of large amounts of earth chakra into it will actually petrify the target in addition to increasing its weight. A similar effect can be achieved in other earthen materials such as mud. The user can also add weight to a given attack (if feasible) to increase both momentum and impact force, effectively adding damage to it.
Note: The weight change lasts 2 turns or until countered.

One of the very unique and famous jutsus. The user will perform one hand seal and staying in contact with the object he will insert his doton chakra into the object and manipulate it in a way that the very same object will increase in mass. This will increase the weight of the object up to ten times more then the usual weight. This can easily restrict that very object or persons movement dramatically. Moving will be almost impossible. Also a very important note is They cannot petrify water or anything other than earthen materials such as mud and Wood techniques. In all other cases, only weight is added. So energy based attacks will not added in weight. Also this can easily be used on oneself or object to increase its power and impact. So its awesome for close range but you will sacrifice your speed because of it. Unless releasing the jutsu itself then the weight will remain on the object and/or person for two turns. Its a good jutsu but has many drawbacks as well be sure to use wisely.


(Doton: Keijugan no Jutsu) - Earth Release: Light Weight Rock Technique

Description: Contrary to its counterpart (the Earth Release: Added-Weight Rock Technique), instead of making the target heavier, this technique makes it much lighter, though still using the same principle and mechanics. The user will make direct contact with the given target (through his hands), infusing them with earth chakra and lowering their weight drastically. The technique can lower a targets weight up to 10 times less than it originally had. This allows freer manipulation of the affected objects, which would normally carry considerably more weight and as such, require a greater amount of exertion to move. The technique can be used on the user or other shinobi to increase their speed, but as a consequence of using it this way, it results in the decrease of the physical force of their blows. The same principle applies if used on a physical attack wich will be faster but will carry less momentum and as such, less physical damage. It doesn't change the "strength" of binding techniques (like Sand Release), where the user is manipulating a dynamic element but will decrease the impact damage of techniques that rely on it.
Note: The initial effects last for 2 turns or until countered.

The polar opposite of the previous jutsu. Instead of gaining mass this jutsu acts to lower the mass of the object or person up to ten times lighter then the usual weight. This jutsu when used in battle either lowering your own mass or a mass of an object exchanges the impact power for blazing speed. Its a great tool to use for fast attacks and pressuring the opponent. You can also increase your own speed to evade certain attacks with ease. Also a very important note is They cannot petrify water or anything other than earthen materials such as mud and Wood techniques. Its another risky jutsu, you might have speed but due to so little mass you will have less of an impact in certain jutsus as well as most taijutsus. Be very weary of that.
