Uhh earth sandwiches. xD
Alright I want to say that this is a pretty nice technique. Probably one of the strongest canon ones, even though it's pretty straightforward. So, after forming three handseals and slamming your hands on the ground, you can make two very large sections of, well, mountain rise from the ground to crush everything between them. They travel at normal speed, but it creates a lot of noise, so it's easily noticeable. This technique is incredibly powerful and actually overpowers techniques of the same rank due to it's immense chakra cost and damage point value (though it still loses to Forbidden-rank techniques and equal-rank Lightning for being S-rank Earth). About the countering part, I would say that high-speed movement techniques like EIG and Swift should be able to allow the user to run out from between the slabs, but for a normal person I would assume that they would have to destroy the technique as opposed to running from it (if the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path couldn't step out in time, it clearly moves fast enough with a wide enough base to stop normal people from getting out). Overall, this technique is incredibly destructive, but it's main purpose lies in attacking when your opponent doesn't have anywhere to go; using it when your opponent is focused on you and has nothing else to deal with is a bad idea if you're not trying to set them up for a greater combo move. For example a perfect combo would be using the earth swamp beforehand, or a water technique that will appear below them to force them to stay on water. Once they are on water they cannot use lighting, meaning that they have to figure a way out to escape by destroying it. But if the person does not have a lot of customs, that would be hardly done. Also by creating something below them you are blocking their escape with lowering the ground or hiding like a mole so one should take that into account. Jumping in the air is a rather bad idea too, because you won't have time to escape from above (taking into account how large the demonic statue is and this technique made it look like a small figure), unless you don't have a teleportation technique. That brings me to the next point, if you have S/T technique then you are good to go, against obito biographies this will be a waste of chakra for sure. Same goes about people who have teleportation, oldschool customs. One should be careful when using this technique, since it can only be used a limited amount of times, and it does cost a lot of chakra.
