Actually, How does the motion lines still being there show otherwise? Sasuke's blade pierces him and then the motion lines show Madara's hands swing up toward where the blade was to catch it. Sure, it was aimed toward the face on Madara's chest, but that doesn't mean that he didn't purposely stop to catch his blade. He was jumping back and evading his hits comfortably, I don't see why all of a sudden he'd get caught, when there was nothing to hinder him. Also, the bold doesn't make sense considering he swung his right hand away from where Sasuke was thrusting and toward where the blade was going. So there is no way you can claim that he tried to catch the blade before it pierced his arm.

So he maneuvered his body to catch the blade that was about to hit Hashirama's chest? Since he was completely moving his body, how can you suggest that he stopped? What you are suggesting is pure speculation and nothing in the images supports it. Before this forward stab, Sasuke was swinging his blade in a circular, wide swipe-like manner - this was a completely different Kenjutsu maneuver.

What? Doesn't look that way in the scans. He clearly moved his arm to try and catch the blade that was aimed at his chest. He utterly failed. He only caught in with the same arm after it got stabbed through. Given the fact that after stabbing through muscle, the blade must have obviously lost some momentum, giving him ample reaction time to not only use the same arm but the other one to completely hold it in place. Why? Because he couldn't completely stop the blade and had to use the second hand as well to stop it in its tracks before it reached Hashirama.

Those scans are not even ambiguous. They are pretty clear cut.
