look don't hate me but i don't really see any signs of great speeds from Dbz.
-
for example. if you take Physics in consideration.
-
you can see signs of speed based on the folling things.
-
for example Jets brake the sound barrier by moving so fast that they break the sound barrier with a massive boom.
-
Dbz you never hear any breaking of the sound barrier.
-
furthermore a indicator of speed is vibration.
-
for example. when rock lee fought gaara, he moved so fast that his mere motionsd the entire arena to explode Goku in ssj2 couldn't cause anything to explode no matter how fast he moved. in gai sensie punched the air so fast that the air lit on fire(a indicator of a massive speed feat)
-
dbz doesn't show any of these.
-
their greatest feat is moving so fast that to the human eye he is invisible.
-
this isn't a feat
-
bullets move faster than the eye can see.
-
not to mention kakashi mere motion(not even fighting) dissapeared from normal human eye. so that doesn't really mean anything. and when sasuke jumped down from the rock to naruto level he dissapeared from their sight.
-
idk about you, and hey i am not hating on dbz. don't get me wrong i am a big fan of dbz. i just like placing unbiased eyes on things.
-
Dbz is amazing easily one of the greatest shows of all time, becasue dbz existed, we have the HST, Code geass, Fairy tail and even attack on titan.
-
so no hate for dbz, just appling real world physics to dbz.
-
what do you think though?
-
am i wrong? right?
-
and again no hate.

DBZ just shows the speed in a different way. Mostly characters just comment on it. Plus when they speed up flying, they displace the air molecules around them, hence the extra clouds around their feet

LOL...

You do know that Goku can travel faster than speed of light with instant transmission right??

Actually so can Kid Buu and Cell after he blew himself up with Goku..

oops, i forgot about IT. simply because it was like teleporting.
-
i meant combat speed.
-
i know IT was used in combat, but it isn't a combat attack.
-
sorry >_<
-
but i mean aside from IT what else does DBZ show?
-
@the laughing man
can you show me some scans/images?

Actually that's not true because if he only traveled at the speed of light with instant transmission then it would have taken him hundreds of years if not thousands to get to New Namek or Supreme Kai's planet they are hundreds to thousands of light years away and he reached them in a matter of seconds..

In the sayain saga i believe the untrained eye could not see them fight but only see impact flashes moments after they happened. But you know, that's not fast at all XD

Man I would if I had the time to go back through all of the chapters to see where it is chapter wise really it wouldn't take that long but I am feeling kinda lazy and it has been forever since I read the actual manga. I have watched the Anime dozens of times though. But like someone else said it's just the way they displayed the speed on DBZ I mean they are way faster than the speed of sound its just not illustrated the way it would be in the real world because lets be real here its not the real world its a manga world. So it's really hard to compare the two just like comparing power levels of different manga seems kinda pointless to me as well..

that was when gohan was trying to keep up with yamcha fighting the saibaman, he couldn't follow the motion with his eyes, so Piccolo told him to use his ki to detect/see him.
-
i remember reading the scene.
-
however i noticed this, but here is the fact that your missing, so they can dissapear from vision that doesn't take much speed
-
we can't see bullets can we?
-

-
bullets travel 1,200-1,500 fps(feet per second)
-
so this is the speed dbz characters were at the saiyan saga, moving at 1,200-1,500 fps, whihc is ridicously slower then jet planes.

You do understand that that's crappy yamcha, the weakest (at the time) out of the Z-fighters, right. Ok then.

Raditz at the beginning of DBZ caught a lot of shot gun shells in his hand point blank range and he was a lot slower than the point of the series you are referring to.

Heres a page that tells a little about Goku's speed with IT although he has traveled much farther distances in same time..

yes, and the saibamen were a bit weaker than raditz, so i wouldn't say a lot slower. when Raditz and Saibamen were about the same power level, the saibamen power level was 1,200 and raditz power level was 1,500
-
so you were wrong there Raditz is faster then the saibamen, by 300, but still.
-
so Raditz was moving faster then what i was referencing so like i said they would be faster then the 1,200-1,500 fps,
=
i was basically using bullet speed, becasue i have heard argumetns suggesting that dbz characters when they dissapear from the human eyesight is FTl. no joking there.
-
but anyway i just like looking at things from real-world perspective
-
@ssj3 gotenks
yep
-
Goku says, "just think of the place, sense its ki, and you are there instantly"
-
like i said its teleporting :)

The speed of DBZ is very inconsistent.

Instant Transmission users are said to be light speed, and it is the fastest technique in the series.

However, during the fight against Raditz, when he managed to avoid makenkosappou, Piccolo argued to dodge that he was faster than light.

Flying from one area to another with experienced fighters took an amount of time.. however during the series finale pan claimed she had just got from flying around the world within the interval of 5 mins.

Don't even get me started with how off the speedblitzes are. Some people move at supersonic speeds when they are binded to the ground.. :|

incorrect Saibamen have power levels of 1,250 and Raditz had one of 1,200. But whatever its not important they are pretty much equal ill move on, Nappa who is not very strong was to able to go at a brisk speed and be fater than the armies aircraft.

Also to your point earlier Goku can and has used the IT in battle before here is the proof..

on another note.. I really hate the crappy scanlations for DB I really wish they would rerelease them in English with them read the right way...

Until the inconsistencies stop with the possibility of a new series due to Battle of the Kami, the fastest the series can go is instantaneous with Goku, Cell and the Yardrats instant transmission technique.

thats becuase of bad translations and anime blowing things out of proportion
-
there are a ridicoulous amounts of arguments thanks to this.
-
you have to understand,
-
moving ftl is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy out of Dbz range.
-
the speed of light is 186,282 miles per second, bullets are .5 mps. so even with the super saiyan multipliers. whihc is 50x2x4, which means, at the end of series with ssj3 Goku was moving 200 mps.
-
the speed difference is just far to great. lol
-
outside of IT of course
-
@tapey
-
it says that the saibamen are 1,200
and for Raditz it says 1,500 :)
-
@ssj3 gotenks
-
agreed :) and yeah i know he can. its like i said outside of IT
