However this only works on free flowing lightning based techniques such as the Chidori current and not on focused lightning based techniques
Place the point of your blade into the ground, and then use the sword as conductor to draw in any unfocused lightning attacks away from yourself.

Correct. xD Now perform a three move combination attack, using one kenjutsu technique we have learned , and two other non-kenjutsu techniques. We stand mid-range.
-As I see your clone, I quickly make a single handseal. I then insert chakra into your clone's chakra system, and cause him to be caught in an illusion where he can't see anything. Then, while he's stunned from being suddenly blind I trap him in a water prison. He now can't breathe and is blind. He can't hear anything either due to the water. I then quickly draw my katana, I hold it with both arms with my right hand on top. I then charge chakra into the blade and make a downwards vertical slash. This releases a blade of chakra that travels towards your clone and through the water. The blade cuts your clone and he disperses.-
