You did not mention the position of your hands, what arm you use to hold the sword or the type of slash.
-I grasp the sword, with my right hand above my left, I use both my arms for an increase in speed and power. I channel chakra into the blade, and make a downwards, vertical slash directly at a tree. The sword cuts through the tree, causing two halves to fall apart into seprate directions.-

Description: With this technique, the user will make a sequence of slashes with their sword and finishes with a powerful final slash dealing liberal damage to their enemy.
This is a pretty lenient technique, there are no specific parameters of where you HAVE to strike them, so it's a nice technique to use when you need a basic technique to block/counter your enemy.
-I hold my sword in my right arm with my left hand on top of my right. I then make a downwards vertical slah, and then slash upwards. From there, I make a right Horizontal slash. I end with a powerful horizontal slash to the left. This causes your clone to disperse.-

Description: The user punches the opponent a few times and finishes them with two final slashes with their blade or sword.
So because this technique requires you to punch your opponent first, it would be best to draw your sword afterwords. It needs to be a quick draw, with quick slashes to best utilize the speed this technique offers.
-I keep my sword sheathed as I punch my opponent in the jaw repeatedly with my left hand, then I focus chakra as I draw my sword as fast as possible. I channel chakra through the blade as I make a upwards vertical slash, and then a left horizontal cut. This then causes your clone to disperse.-

Hold it with one hand on the hilt, with the blade pointing outwards. Then spin towards your right, holding the tanto out. Your spinning movement will cut my clone deeper than just a normal slash. Try 2 or three rotations.

So, this technique is just epic, I really think it's cool. From the downward arc of your jump, holding your sword with both hands, with the blade facing downwards. You basically just smash it through the top of my clone's skull.

This makes it extremely difficult to know which sword is attacking.-
