I find the whole idea of "legitimacy" in this case quite funny, especially when we consider this is a post-manga work and Kishi is providing illustrations.

To put it simply, if people want to enjoy more content on what happens between 699 and 700, they should read these, if they don't care, then they shouldn't.

OD and Irregulars-daradara are the only two English translators who've read the novel. Neither have said anything. (other than OD saying it was false)

We got a part 3 coming and a movie. So no the manga is not already over. I am not stopping anyone from not reading it. I am just saying that you can't use the content in here in debates because it lacks the legitimacy title.

Can be and is are two different things. When Blood Prison the movie was created, it was stated to be completely non canon, which means that the Blood Prison and the characters itself do not exist.

The area? Probably. I did not expect him to create a non-canon piece of land for the movie itself. The people? Nope. The Prison itself? Never stated anywhere in the manga nor by Kishimoto.

They guy who made the plot for the movie showcased Naruto, as Naruto. So these works of literature are his pieces of showing Naruto through his eyes. I have not read any of them though so I cannot tell who displays the characters better than the other.

On a side not; I've got no problem with non-canon stuff as long as it doesn't create more plot holes, contradictions, or depict the characters OOC...etc and of course as long as it tie the lose ends and /or answer the unanswered stuff. .

It's hard to call what Sasuke does at this point OOC though, because we saw him change drastically at the very end of the manga and we didn't see much of his new self.
