If the author cares less about such things then why should we sit around thinking its canon because it feels canon? I mean I have no problems with people reading this at all. My only beef is with people who claim its canon and use this sort of source to justify anything. Because in reality there will always be a question mark if this stuff is legit or not.

Oh, well, I suppose it creates an issue when it's used for feats/vs matchups, but since I rarely participate I don't really think of it in that way.

And yeah, the problem with "canon" plagues many fandoms - just think of Star Wars.

It's a lot more complicated there. Recently, they just declared their entire Expanded Universe to be non-canon simply for convenience.

I can understand your reason perfectly. Its just for a long run things will be a bit questionable when it comes to the stuff that is shown in these. Specially if you are gonna be in debates over it.

Well, basically they have a huge universe besides the movies (comics, books, games etc) that were all considered canon in some way. But in 2014 most of it was declared to not be canon, only leaving the movies (including the upcoming ones) and TV series. That just proves that the authors do whatever they want with their own work. But well, that's already beyond the point.

Yeah, that's because they don't usually have so many authors working on the same franchise/universe and don't expand so much... Which is a good thing

In the end, I guess we'll have to wait and see how it all comes together, and whether Kishi makes any claims or not. We'll also see how it goes with the mini-series.

Yeah which is why I like to seperate American work with Japanese.

If Kishi does confirm it though. I will gladly accept these as canon.

I knew he spent a long time in Konoha before he left, but I did not think it was a whole year, I thought it was more like 2 months.

And yea like I also said he would have spent time with Sakura hence why she asked to go with him.

Also as expected, people who don't like this pairing most likely won't accept any of this as "canon". xd

The story of Naruto is over, and these novels are just meant to fill the gaps and address some unresolved issues, I guess it's up to the reader but I see no reason to not consider these canon. Some people might say "new jutsus in debates" but I think that's not even important.

Going back to the topic at hand, I think if you just acknowledge that Sasuke really changed for the better this will be much easier to take in.

Can be and is are two different things. When Blood Prison the movie was created, it was stated to be completely non canon, which means that the Blood Prison and the characters itself do not exist.

The area? Probably. I did not expect him to create a non-canon piece of land for the movie itself. The people? Nope. The Prison itself? Never stated anywhere in the manga nor by Kishimoto.

They guy who made the plot for the movie showcased Naruto, as Naruto. So these works of literature are his pieces of showing Naruto through his eyes. I have not read any of them though so I cannot tell who displays the characters better than the other.

Wrll according to the kakashi novel, they refered and mentionef naruto have been confined in Blood prison in the past which mean its more or less canon

I didn't exactly understand your statement, are you saying "canon or not is the only thing people care about, they dont care if its legit or not"?

@Indra: I checked the pairing thread, that person didn't confirm it to be fake, she said that she thought it's most likely fake, what was confirmed is that Sakura said "I'll wait for Sasuke", which doesn't necessarily contradict this because these "walks" supposedly took place before Sasuke left.

Anyways, doesn't really matter if this is fake or not tbh, it's not that important, the only thing it would provide us is an idea of Sasuke's new personality, taking walks with Sakura is definitely not something he would have done before.

No where was it confirmed how long Sasuke was in Konoha in the Kakashi novel (OD answered this multiple times, and said so again yesterday on reddit)

Plus, don't mix headcanon and theories up with spoilers. No Japanese raw or pix = fake.

Yeah they were spreading rumors but that ShikaTema fan on pairing thread just said it was fake. Her friends are translating the novel, and that info was not stated.
