Yeah it was confirmed that he authorized the artwork for the novels, and he probably supervised it the same way he supervised Kyuubi ripping Naruto from the Last XD.

Also some reports suggesting that the Shikamaru novel confirms Sasuke and Sakura spent quality time together and are in a romantic relationship by going on walks in Konoha but this is unconfirmed

IF this is true, then great. This is what I wanted to see to respect this pairing.

The "they're in a romantic relationship" part is pure BS though, as we saw no ROMANTIC connection on Sasuke's part in chapter 699. You mofos need to stop forcing ROMANTIC feelings on Sasuke. Dude cares about her deeply but don't force LOVE on him just yet.

IF they really went on walks and stuff, it set the foundation for a transition to a romantic relationship when he returns. I don't think Sasuke began to seeing Sakura romantically until he was on his journey and started seeing the world with new eyes.

Remember his line in 699: "I might see things I overlooked before"

One of the things he had been overlooking is the depths of Sakura's love and his need to accept it. They got together AFTER his journey, IMO.

Though this isn't canon, if Kishi were to make it canon, he'd do the BS he did with NaruHina by having Sasuke realize that his feelings for Sakura were romantic this whole time (LOL)...you know...the usual insult to our intelligence.

Wait I'm confused. But shikas novel takes place in 2yrs after the war. It says so in the beginning according to other posts. So how is sasuke still here if he wasn't in the last? (Which is also 2 yrs from war)

Pretty sure the OP said that this took place before Sasuke went on his journey. In other words before Sasuke leaving in 699

I've said this in the pairing sticky but I'll say it here too: no idea where the idea of anything remotely SS related in Shikamaru's novel came from. It just came out in Japan so don't take anything with more than a grain of salt without a source for proof.
