yes im from newark, i visit my dad all the time but my mom raised me great, i'm a neuroscience major in college, and going to grad school for occupational therapy next year. I also do mma, boxing, wrestled, and do muay thai. THat being said you learn more from your school and peers than you do from your parents. Thats a fact

i meant that most boys(i wont say all becuase i could be wrong) will learn from other guys or his father which is something a woman cant do, because shes not a guy lol

Learm what? What exactly differs? I'm pretty sure a mother will teach a child to be a gentleman, earning them respect points from generally everyone. They'd also teach their kid not to take sh*t from anyone. At least mine would. So I'm confused at where you're drawing this conclusion.

Take that anyway you'd like.

interesting...Hitler was also raised by a single mother...but i think its possible if she is affectionate and true to her self and her love for her on i say yes its very possible

the point was(and alot of other people agree so i wanted to see if anyone agreed with them) a boy will mostly base him self off of a father, role model peers someone he looks up to. while the mother does help he becomes who he is after being around other guys which is why the mom needs to have him around the right crowd.

thats what they mostly said

Well, that's kind of generalizing, don't you think? Personally, I believe that you pull equal amount of traits from your parents. I learned more about being "a man" from my mother than my father. I got my dad's sense of humor and optimism.

I know dudes who were raised by lesbian Moms/single Moms and are the manlisest/masculine dudes I know. It all depends, even if you have a Father, that doesn't mean you'll turn out to be a "man", saying a Father figure is mandatory is pretty stupid imo.

Forgot to add that and being raised by a single mother doesn't make a difference. This has been shown through scientific research as well.

yea but people are saying that boys actually learn mostly from a male role model and not his mother, so you think its not that much true?

Only a man can teach a man what a man needs to do. I know it hard to understand but its not easy to explain. Its not a thing about traits like Draphsin said its more of life lessons that a man has been through and things that only men are suppose to do. A mother can teach her son how to be a gentlemen like Draphsin said but a woman cannot teach a child how to be a man. You would get an immature grown ass boy who leeches off others and is lazy. A man takes care of business, knows what hard work is and goes and get it by any means. Men don't make excuse, men accept reality and does what is needed to be done. Yes a woman can have these characteristics but its very few women out of the 4 billion that exist that have those characteristics. In general woman don't have those characteristics but some do and are forced to be that way because of the hand they were dealt in life. Hope this helps

Science does not know the " human factor ". Science measures tangible things, not the intangible traits of humans. Also it does make a difference.

Leonardo Da Vinci, a illegitimate son born outside marriage ..... Imagine the situations he had to face yet look at his achievements. Its what learn in life that matters not what you are taught.
