Their potentials (Current generation) speaks for themselves.

If we're talking about the current generation as in Boruto's class, then yes, their potential speaks for itself.

That same Obito was still a chunin. Moreover, he didn't exactly trained with his Mangekyo Sharingan nor Mokuton.

Dumb argument, and for more than one reason too. Naruto was, at the same time, a Genin and the world's strongest Shinobi. Therefore the exception, not the rule. Just like Obito. Not to mention Obito was not affiliated with the leaf at this point, so his official ranking doesn't really matter all that much, and while he didn't really train with the Mangekyou, he doesn't need to as, much like it did with Sasuke, the abilities came to him instinctually, he did train with Mokuton.

I could already tell this was going to be your response; except Obito was still within the appropriate age for Chunin, unlike Naruto. How old was Obito at that point? 12, 13? Furthermore, even prior to the events leading to Obito getting the Mangekyo Sharingan, he defeated a Jounin level shinobi right after he awakened his two tomoe Sharingan.

"Not to mention Obito was not affiliated with the leaf at this point,"

He died a Chunin. He wasn't formally stripped off his rank.

"much like it did with Sasuke,"

Sasuke actually had to get use to his Mangekyo Sharingan. Also, you can't possibly compare that, to his adept showing of wood release against the mist shinobi.

Boruto at the age of 12 being called chunin rank is paltry compared to the level the man who said it was at at the same age.

Kakashi was Jonin at that age.

At 13 Itachi lead the uchiha massacre, and was an anbu captain.

Boruto is a basic level genius, he is neji tier.

I am not trying to undersell him (as of where the anime currently is, he is above everyone but mitsuki) I am just saying that this praise he is receiving is nothing compared to some older generation geniuses.

Look at his competition... only sarada and mitsuki even really compete... and later on sarada surpasses him in taijutsu. Mitsuki has sage mode so GG.

The basis of Substation, even in today's episode, usually happens after the character initiates impact. Like when Boruto thought he was punching Kakashi, but Kakashi switched himself with Boruto's clone.

Or when Boruto threw shuriken at Kakashi's body, but it turned out to be a log after it hit.

Boruto actually touched the bell, THEN, Kakashi used substation. I don't even understand the argument for it.

Kakashi using substation doesn't change the fact that Boruto touched the bell. In fact, it reinforces the argument.

The S/T happens after the touch, which doesn't change the fact that Boruto touched the bell.

Therefore, you are dismissed.

You defeated your own argument.

If boruto touching the bell means he actually touched it because subsitution visually works the way you say it does, then kakashi currently has several holes in his chest because the kunai actually touched him.

Also, remember when kakashi was cut in half in the first arc of part 1? Substitution. Did he actually get cut in half, or does the jutsu just use a visual? Fill in the blank.

Very hype episode
Lots of key points.
Mitsuki and Boruto are the best, as far as the episode goes.

I repeat: exception, not rule. Had he gone back to the leaf village and remained a Chunin, then yes, at that point your argument would have more ground, but he didn't, he left and never returned. There was no one to grade his level of skill at that point, and we have no idea if he would've remained a Chunin had he returned to the leaf village...which yeah, if the far weaker at the time Kakashi was a Jonin, he probably wouldn't.

He died a Chunin. He wasn't formally stripped off his rank.
My point. Obito, at the time of his supposed death, was a Chunin. The Obito were talking came long after that,

Sasuke actually had to get use to his Mangekyo Sharingan. Also, you can't possibly compare that, to his adept showing of wood release against the mist shinobi.

He did, but he never had to stop and learn or practice something like Amaterasu. It came to him naturally when he needed.

Also, you can't possibly compare that, to his adept showing of wood release against the mist shinobi.

This was the beginning of his training, you can see that much by his shorter hair. Not to mention, he also was wearing Guruguru's body as a suit of sorts when he fought the Mist Shinobi, and Guruguru, being a Zetsu, has its body made from pure Senju DNA. His Mokuton received a noticeable boost.

Stop being so silly,In a war torn era,Boruto would probably be jonin by now(If he gets enough training from noteworthy characters before he hits puberty)

War will give you experience but true power can only be gained with training. Unless you have a PU. Itachi with no war defeated Orochimaru. Why? Because he trained for it. Even now academy kids know thing that Team 7 learned under Kakashi.

You're taking the rest of the post out of context. The standards have been raised, not lowered. There's a reason Kakashi and Obito didn't seem that impressive as Chunin and Jonin compared to the Genin Naruto and Sasuke, even without their respective powerups, or why most of Boruto's class seem more competent than Academy Sasuke when he was supposed to be a massive prodigy. A Chunin level now is far more impressive than what a Chunin level was back then.

Or maybe Iruka was a bad teacher, you know, he was only a Chunnin while this academy kids had 3 Jonnins as their academy teachers. Kakashi once even told Iruka that he can treat his students the way he wants just to make them stronger because Iruka said that Kakashi was being to rush. Iruka did not let them grow more because he sees them on his perspective.

[Sub]Considering Kakashi became a chunin at 6, a jonin at 10, joined the ANBU at 13, and Itachi became a chunin at 10, and catapulted to ANBU leader at 13, I'd say Boruto being chunin status at 13 is extremely unimpressive and not an iota a prodigy.[/Sub]

Unlike them, Boruto's not even really trying, though.

Wait, I thought Boruto anime is filler? You seem pretty satisfied Boruto was praised.

In the manga Boruto mentioned the field trip to the mist, meaning that part, and possibly most of the rest is canon, but i know for a fact that the stuff with Shin and the msit village stuff is

I would suspect the same considering his ninjutsu and physical accomplishments as a brat in peace.
