Both parties were in the wrong. The boy shouldn't have been at the park waving around a fake gun (that looks real, btw. Tons of beebee guns look identical to real ones, especially from a distance). The boy should've been home or doing something that twelve year old's do, like playing video games or maybe drawing.

The cops shouldn't have rolled up and shot the kid before telling him to put his hands up, but the kid did have the gun in his hands and how could one predict what he was going to do? The smartest thing for the kid to do is drop the gun when he sees the cops, so he doesn't seem like a threat.

All in all, if the kid was doing shit he was supposed to be doing, he wouldn't be dead. Should he be dead regardless? No, but he put himself in that position and ended up dead for it.

I don't feel bad for the kid, the family, or anyone related to the matter. The only people I feel bad for are the ones who scream racism whenever a delinquent ends up dead.

At the same time, the cops who killed the kid should be put on leave and should never wear a badge again. What they did was unnecessary, and someone died.

Not condoning what those cops did but the guy must've been quite stupid doing what he did ._. an airsoft gun looks almost identical to a real one and then even reaching for it when being confronted by cops? (assuming the cops spoke the thrust lol) I dunno.. kinda dumb if you ask me, still they shouldn't have shot first and asked questions after lol.

So.. the cops were obviously wrong in their actions but the guy just seemed to lack a few brain cells doing what he did and sometimes a dumb action can lead to serious consequences if you stumble upon the wrong people.

And Thunderbolt ._. you're annoying

obivilously that cop should ave known not to shot , the case should be investagated then set charges, however that gun was very realistic looking, anyperson if they didn't know it was toy would think it was real that's not to say it's okay to shoot

Okay, obviously something needs to be done about law enforcement. That being said. For all those following these stories. I want you to watch what the government is doing closely while all this unfolds. Bills being passed, a change in foreign policy, etc. Be observant and watch them carefully.

My gut feeling is this is a cover up for something much bigger.

How many minorities must die before change must happen?
Your comments in this thread are laughable, this has nothing to do with the color of his skin, he was shot because he was waving a gun around. Think back why the cops roll up in the first place, they don't know if they will run into a 72 year old white man with a real gun or a 12 year old black boy with a real looking gun when people call 911 to tell them there is a lunatic in the park with a gun.

It's the same with that Ferguson kid, he wasn't shot because he was black, he was shot because the police had reason to be there because he just robbed a store and gave the officers a reason to shoot because he grabbed for something in his belt instead of cooperating.

If anything these minorities are overrepresented in crime stats and that is an impressive thing to do for a smaller group of people. But that has everything to do with chances and education. So if you want to make a point you should complain about why minorities don't have and or use the same opportunities other people get.

The way you're putting it in this thread makes you the racist, because it matters **** all if the boy was black or white and even less if the cop was black or white. Would this be any less tragic if it was a white boy shot by a mexican ? or an asian kid by an african cop ? no, because the bottomline is that the people who get shot are getting themselves in trouble and that has nothing to do with the color of their skin or racism.

And that is what you are doing by zooming in on incidents and degrade it to something that has to do with skin color. You're the opposite of Martin Luther King and he would be ashamed if he knew you were posting this kind of crap with his face next to it.

This happens so much in America in comparison to everywhere else. Probably due to the dumb old-fashioned traditions the nation kept much after everywhere else in the first world abandoned them.

I am sorry to be rude but inst that obvious? Since when do white cops kill white children because they were playing with silly toys?
Let's be frank here - you are clearly one of the *******s in this world that only care that this boy died because he was black. Pathetic. It has nothing to do with his race - a little boy died, but the only thing that matters to you is the colours of it all. Don't say stupid shit like that - you are generalising too much. The officers did NOT kill him because he was black, idiot, the officer killed him because he saw him with a gun.

Delete your account, you have nothing in common with Martin Luther King, you are like a deviation of Malcolm X.

^Oh look at this cop killing a WHITE teenager over a " Wii " controller.

^And look at this WHITE 23-year-old honor student Robert Cameron Redus

^Officer’s record cleared after shooting death of 5-year-old.....Kid was white, fishing with his grandfather and cop said he was trying to shoot a snake and accidentally killed him.Hmmmm

Really now, you're turning everything about cops only killing black people, when's that's not simply the case.

Pathetic

Instead of race baiting why don't you talk about how Police officers needs a second look in their training and charging them for actually killing an innocent person.
The problem isn't just white cops but the whole system.

Stop making threads how white cops are killing blacks, when all races are being targeted.

Also remove the great King's picture from your avatar, you're defiling his image, going against what he stood for by spreading false hate in your past threads.

Youre no different from the media covering cops killing blacks for views and ignoring a case about cops killing an non-black person.

As bad as it is that this kid died, people are just claiming some dumb shit. Everyone wants to claim it's racist that the little boy died. No, where the hell were this kids parents? The kid was waving a gun around and aiming it at people... The fault lies with the person who is relaying the information to the officers. She was blatantly told by the person who called the cops in the first place that the boy's gun might be fake, however she failed to relay the message. So the cop goes into this scenario knowing 3 things:

- Man with a gun
- Aiming it at people
- People are alarmed and scared

It was obvious the cop was following his training up until he shot the boy. He rode right up next to him screaming hands in the air. The boy reached down for the gun and the officer shot. I honestly don't think the cop is at fault, and this in no way compares to the Michael Brown or Eric Garner cases. Of course it's bad the little boy died, but people are simply just not looking at the facts. The little boy needed his parents around him, and he needed to know that it's not alright to point a gun(even fake) at people. Regardless of his race, the little boy should have known better. RIP though, he shouldn't have died over something so stupid.

they should have shot his hand or used a taser.

sometimes kids dont think straight and do things in a wrong way. was he reaching for his gun to put it down?

i think i heard a 911 call of this incident on the radio and the dispatcher kept asking the boys skin color and the lady who called them was like uuhhh...

If you watched the video you will see that he was shot within mere seconds giving him little to no time to react.. Also how does playing with a toy gun make him a delinquent? When i was young many kids used to have such type of toys.

The Cop asked to see his hands and the kid grabbed the gun. Lol What would you have done. Don't tell me some BS like shoot him in the arm or leg. Lol

op, the cop killed the kid because he was a mentally unstable piece of dumb shit, not just because the kid was black, as you'd like to believe.
