Aren't Kisame and Itachi equals powerwise?

haha face it people Itachi is atleast a tier above Kisame. The man admitted inferiority thats when you know theres no helping it. As much as id like to say Kisame is up there with Itachi....he simply isnt.

You didn't understand my post....... too many people think strenght is dependant solely on 1 on 1 fights, when it clearly isn't the case. Kakashi(with kamui) could potentially one shot EMS madara, hashirama etc via Kamui hax, but no one in their right mind would say that Kakashi is stronger than Madara or Hashirama.

dude you didnt get my post. This is not about matchups. Itachi is simply above Kisame on the food chain in general. He is superior...that is all. I wasnt speaking from a 1v1 perspective.

Still doesn't make him stronger overall though. For example, Kakashi could beat ems madara via kamui. However, if I was to go up against multiple kage level opponents at once on my own, or go up against a battalion/army I would MUCH rather have Madara's skill set.

To determine a winner, we look at who would come out on top at the end of a battle. Kakashi has a better eye, an "OP" eye, just as Shishui had Kotoamatsuki and was feared for it. In a 1v1 no prep battle, he wins most his matches

No I am not. I am addressing the false premise that 1 on 1 fights are the sole indicator of a shinobi's overall strength/power. In other words, x beating y doesn't make one stronger automatically. In some cases, the "weaker" shinobi wins due to bad matchup.(eg hebi sasuke vs deidara) and some shinobis are almost unbeatable in 1 on 1 fights, but would stink when going up against multiple enemies. I am still a hundred percent right about the madara/kakashi example I gave.

Itachi is stronger, only because Kisame has little counter to tsukoyomi. Apart from genjutsu, Kisame has counter to most of Itachi's techniques.

Not to mention, Kisame is extremely durable and physically stronger than Itachi, plus better stamina. But still Itachi wins

I understand the point you're trying to make, and the premise that a 1v1 battle scenario doesn't prove who's overall stronger, but I disagree.

Kisame admitted inferiority to Itachi and Itachi is just a tier higher than his partner overall. His arsenal is varied, hard to counter, deadly, and precise. Itachi is a hard counter for just about anyone because he's simply too hax, really. That's not a sleight against Kisame though, as he's an exceptional ninja himself. But it's been painted at almost every possible turn that Itachi is a once-in-a-lifetime ninja by Hashirama, Zetsu, Kabuto, Sasuke, Kakashi, Jiraiya, and Kisame himself that very few can compete with outside of Sage and his family types and Juubi jinchuriki.

Kisame has some great feats, but Itachi is just portrayed and shown to be a notch above IMO.

Akatsuki has cliff busters (Sasori/Deidara), city busters (Pain/Obito) and street level missing nin. They're not comparable.

Exactly correct. People not using this logic is why so many Top 10s are ruined.

Hanzo for example. He clearly is not beating Pain or Mifune but they are clearly bad matchups. When you look at how many ninja he can actually defeat when compared to how many people he cannot he's clearly the same level or sometimes stronger. You can't compare a ninja all-round by matching them with one specific opponent (especially bc Itachi actually has an extremely specific fighting style that specifically gets through Kisame's intense and general tactic.
