what im saying is samehada can absorb fire jutsus but he doesnt like them. he also cant/wont absorb high level fire techs meaning amateratsu or it would burn him. kisame can only absorb chakra in his shark mode.
yet it is a weapon you cant absorb a weapon no matter how you put it.

That's just because of personality-wise. He doesn't submit to him he just feels like he can relate to him is all. Doesn't stop him from attacking him lol.

Kishi doesn't usually show superiority/inferiority between characters but we can still figure it out. He clearly states that Itachi might be able to take Jiraiya on but not himself saying he's in a different league. Clear cut as power scaling can be Kisame is simply not on the level of guys like Jiraiya and Itachi, you guys can cry matchups and any other excuse you have to berate Itachi and overrate Kisame but the fact of the matter is. He simply can't be compared to those guys as he is not even on the same tier, he admits defeat before even trying. Clear sign of being inferior on the food chain. As strong as Kisame is in general he is nothing but fried fish for Jiraiya and Itachi calibre guys. Such is the law of nature.
i dont think he meant as far as fighting itachi. he meant as far as the level he and itachi are on as ninjas. Itachi does stomp though, but i think the point he is trying to make is that kisame is just as deadly as itachi

Kisame is my ***** but itachi is praised by all for a reason... Kisame is top 10 in taijutsu and top 5 in ninjutsu no rikudo enhancement... Plus his jutsu types like water dome 1000 feeding sharks, durability, strength, super shark bomb jutsu... He's top 10 with no rikudo powered individuals
I mean yeah people sing Itachi's praises but when you look at their powers and feats combined they are literally equals. Kisame is such an underrated and OP ninja battlewise and has only had the worst matchups with Guy. The guy defeated KILLER BEE with relative ease. A ninja who uses chakra is in danger.
Yes, everytime there's a thread about ranking the Akatsuki I see people always ranking Itachi higher than Kisame and sometimes even higher than Nagato/Pain and Obito.. They're about equal and I'd even rank Kisame a spot higher.

I agree with kisame losing to itachi but not jiraya..that was part 1 kisame and he only at that time showed a heavy sword swing and water dragon jutsu so its clear part 2 kisame > jiraya...he easily beats jiraya in sm or not. Water dome gg or super exploding colliding wave+ 1000 feeding sharks
