Obito's words this chapter got me thinking. He stated he didn't have the mental stamina and chakra to control both the rinnegans, whereas Madara chose Nagato to be their bearer who was an Uzumaki. It's common knowledge that the Uzumakis possess immense chakra. Not only yang now, but apparently Yin as well. They were the only ones who could confine Kurama and restrain him, Kushina and Naruto were able to survive bijuu extraction for a length of time rather than dying immediately, Orochimaru harbored his own member of the clan who can sense chakra like senjutsu, Kurama and the hyuugas as well as rapidly heal like Kurama and the senjus. Karin was also able to resist and even destroy mokuton.
Then of course they possessed the strongest fuinjutsus like Kurama's seal, reaper death seal, etc. I even hypothesized they created the Totsuka Blade and Yata Mirror while for the longest time, people believed Hagoromo was of their clan. Perhaps they are descended from Hagoromo's brother only unlike the senju and uchiha, inherited all of his chakras and powers and to prevent themselves from being corrupted, they isolated themselves from other clans, villages, nations and war, became monks like Hagoromo, did not develop their potential dojutsus and instead focused on inventing seals to ward off evil and help the world. Warmongering nations saw these jutsus and ideals as a threat to them thus they combined their forces and took them out. And to this day, I would really like to know who did it. My guess is the mist and cloud probably combined their forces and pre-empted them.
In a way, it sounds as if they were following Hagoromo's ideals. Perhaps Kurama's seal was created not only to strengthen his jinchuriki but to connect their chakras, minds and hearts, allowing them to harmonize with each other much easier.
