Larger scale isn't power. Gai's attacks pack more damage per square foot than any other attack in the manga. They may not be as "explosive," but the damage inflicted in the area where the attack hits is far greater than any other.

So yeah, any part of Susano'o that comes into contact with Evening Elephant gets shattered. Night Gai would absolutely obliterate it. Seriously, Deidara's casual explosives are larger than Gai's 8th Gate attacks, but that doesn't mean they are anywhere near as powerful.

People need to differentiate between these two things:

1. Large area of effect
2. Damage per area of effect

Gai's 8th gate attacks don't have a large area of effect. However, their damage per area of effect is unmatched. I think its hilarious people are trying to measure power by the size of the explosion when even Hirudora has a larger AOE than Evening Elephant, yet the latter is tiers above the former in power.
