We don't know if the jutsu has anything to do with Kamui. It's quite possible the only link they have is Tobi's pocket dimension is the same one Kamui sends things too, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are the same thing. Perhaps his 3T was heightened from the Senju DNA in his body.
