as you said, kenjutsu is a fighting style which relies on the usage of swords only (the samurais, for example), while taijutsu is basically hand to hand combat; the kunais are a part of the taijutsu fighting style for the majority of Naruto characters; Gai and Lee are the "pure taijutsu" users...
