Why would madara need obito to do it if he could do it on himself?

Rinne tensei drains the lifeforce & chakra, but since edos cant lose lifeforce or chakra i dont think that effect applies to him. I believe nagato can use it, why not? There isnt anything stating you cant revive others with it while edo.
