Imagination is usable for kindergarteners during play time. You can maybe experience with your imagination, what it feels like for a moment, not every minute of everyday of your life.

If you pass off this story as just another form of entertainment, then I have never seen such waste.
Do you really think all those authors/mangaka experienced the events they let their characters go through? No. They use their imagination. Do you think Kishimoto-sensei experienced even half of the traumatic events that occur in Naruto? No. Yet he must have done a pretty damn good job bringing over those emotions, right? Otherwise you wouldn't constantly make threads surrounding this particular subject.

His manga isn't meant to experience those emotions every day for the rest of your life. He wants to drag you in the story, let you experience the story and then when you're done reading, go back to the real world while occassionally thinking about some of the messages.

And yes this story is one of the many forms of entertainment that exist. It's a shonen manga, and it's classified as action. Not as a slice of life story. This story is meant as an entertainment form, not as a piece to be all philosophical about.

And imagination, that thing you consider only useful for kindergarten teachers apparently, has made various authors/mangaka very rich, so it can't be only suitable for kindergarten teachers then, right?

If you want to be philosophical about this story - even though there isn't a need to - fine, that's your right. But considering it's an action themed manga, aimed at teenage boys, excuse me if I don't act all philosophical about it.
You can discuss a character's personality pretty well if you take the time to study it (like some of us do) and that doesn't mean you have to go through the same experiences as that character. That's why imagination is so useful

dude this entire manga is based on one guys imagination some parts may be close to how kishi grew up but he has never suffered the way that the characters in this series have and yes it is another form of entertainment kishi wants people to enjoy naruto and be entertained. most people will read naruto for entertainment not to be preached at about how the world is and how they should think.
That isn't the point, imagination is not suitable for experiencing what someone else has gone through.....that can only be known first hand. You can portray as best as you can but it still won't be accurate.

Kishimoto did not imagine all the terrible and painful things in this story, those are taken from our world itself, just like Kishimoto applies real world mythology. Every bad thing that happens in this story has happened and is currently happening somewhere on our planet. This story is merely inspired from those truths.

Not the point, refer to post#24

Who said children were expected to relate to it?
At the end of the day, it's for profit from toys, games, etc.
That, to me is very sad.

The sole purpose of Naruto and other Anime out there is to entertain people. There are a lot of program out there, not just anime, which doesn't make sense at all, but still their purpose is for entertainment. So don't be an emo about this, just enjoy it.

Inspiration comes in infinite forms, your point of view is disturbing indeed.

kishi may have took some form of inspiration from all types of stuff not necessarily from real world events and if your a good story writer you will be able to imagine such events before kishi wrote naruto he watched countless anime and films so he could have very well took inspiration from them so to say he looked at the world the way it was, then decided to write about that is a small chance he did do that but he thought up events on his own

Actually, kishi has tried to make it seem believable and also teach certain values to the children eg. never give up, protect your loved ones while sacrificing yourself etc.
Things like hinata's lessons this week may seem boring to mature individuals but can be felt differently by the children. Kishi has tried to make it entertaining as well as informative.
So, it is both for adults as well as children.

If I were a mangaka writing about ninjas I would classify it for shonen aka children.

However, no child as you said will really relate to Naruto from the deeper meanings, but thats why manga can have lots of fans and support not just from children.

Thats the true genius of kishis work. Not only children are entertained but older people can be entertained by understanding and relating.
Kind of from the ground up.

If I were to rewatch some disney movies I'm sure I could relate to it in a deeper way.

Although I do kind of find some scenes not suitible for children such as kushina giving birth and obitos rampage. Thats where an older audience will really appreciate and understand the works behind it.

This is the only thing that I have always felt doubtful about, I don't understand why the writer has intended this...:sy:

Is Naruto the Manga really being aimed at children by Kishimoto?!

WHY IS THAT?

No one without a certain level of maturity and understanding of our world can truly interpret this story. Someone who has never felt any sort of hardship and pain in his life can never relate to, or understand the characters, and I don't mean that your parents yelled at you or grounded you.

The only things that have ever interested the majority of veiwers are the various fight scenes and the powers. Things that don't really exist. Like jutsu, or Sharingan or tailed beasts.....

But the things that do exist and happen in our real world everyday hold very little to no importance to anyone except maybe a handful of people in the entire world. Which are undoubtedly the true objects of expression of the writer.

For example:

Losing your parents and everyone you know and care about, to war or someone else's peace.

Murdering your own kin for power.

Growing up an orphan without knowing love or warmth and always being shunned away and hated.

Living in a world full of nothing but lies and dishonesty which is slowly heading towards its own destruction.

Being used like objects for someone else's personal gain and then being discarded like trash.

Those^ are just a few examples of the factual truths about our world, these things happen everyday, are happening, right now!

How can children who have never missed a Christmas present and are ignorant to the daily workings of our world ever understand something like that?

No one ever tries to look beyond their own entertainment.....
@bold sasuke's life in 5 lines lol ....

OT:

the people who make manga, publish it and sell it, do it for the profit/money

kishi and his publishers don't care if the people who read the manga doesn't understand/relate to the feelings depicted in the manga as long as it sells

you ask why this manga is mostly aimed at children .....thats bcos children and teen are most likely to buy and read manga where as a grown man might have work to do and overlook this manga

simple statistics for u ..... if there are 100 boys under the age of 18 then more than 90 would buy a manga ...... but if consider the same for older men it would go down to sumthing like 75%...... so to get maximum profit they aim at teens ..... and not to mention the Game industry, toys, accessories etc

at the end of the day kishi is not a Mother Teresa who wants to save the world and make everyone understand every feelings depicted in the manga :| ....i know its harsh but its the truth ....he is an artist and naruto is his art which he sells for money

but he is a very gud artist and we respect him for it ....thats all

exactly, maybe the OP watches too much Disney Channel.
You're really not getting this thread bruh.....I suggest you move on to much simpler things.....

So you're saying that......wars, murders, power struggles, poverty, greed etc etc are not painfully evident to the people on Earth?

Yeah he did, through the manga. There is no point, only expression.
Actually, kishi has tried to make it seem believable and also teach certain values to the children eg. never give up, protect your loved ones while sacrificing yourself etc.

Sasuke didn't grow up an orphan and he was never hated......

What bugs me, is that this story has been the sole purpose of Kishimoto's life for 10+ years now and who knows how many years before that. He has shown so many different forms of strife that exist in our world and the ways that people cope with those situations. But the people that read it see nothing in it except their own entertainment, just like you. That's what's sad here.

no im saying that kishi takes inspiration from all sorts of things not just what happens in the real world and all your doing is making the series naruto into something more than what it is yes it has some meaningful moments that can inspire people to be a different person but in the end of the day if you really want to find something you will find it even if it isnt there

oh my gosh. Is this the same guy who used to troll :O!. hollyyy jeeburs

But any who. The series is for mature people and also kids. Its a 3-dimensional thing. People watch it for all sorts of reasons. But only few watch it/read it for the message it sends out. Some people read/watch one piece due to the designs of women made by Oda. Some people watch bleach due to just the fights.

The true audience for One piece, Naruto, Bleach has always been the "adults"/ "mature" people.
