Can Itachi defeat Konoha like Nagato?

Itachi is more of a one on one fighter, thats not somthing he would do unless he tried to sneak and kill everyone at night.

Hell no even with kisame they would be forced to retreat in no time. konoha is well aware of kisame and itachi's ability's because kakashi has fought itachi twice and guy fought kisame twice. Why pain was so successful in owning konoha was because they had barely any knowledge on his ability's/it was a sneak attack and on top of that he is incredibly powerful.

Nagato had a massive advantage that nobody knew what he could do. There are ninja in Konoha that know Itachi's skill set. In fact Danzo probly would have gotten involved if he had. Plus Nagato had godlike force to do heavy damage as well as an army. Itachi would have been destroyed. hence why he ran when he showed up in part 1

That is not why Itachi ran in Part 1..... Itachi went to the village to ensure that his brother was okay and that the elders kept their promise.... But yuo're right - Itachi couldnt destroy the village like Nagato

Na, the main reason pain was as effective as he was was no one had any intel on him or his techs. Shoot the rinnegan itself was believed to be a myth until he showed up. Not only does the leaf know itachi but they know the uchiha like the back of their hand

i am an itachi fan. itachi is not on nagato nor edo madara level. very few people can take out an entire village. heck. dedeira has a better chance at blowing up konoha than itachi going on a rampage. fetch. healthy itachi is still itachi. no chakra pool. fodder 11 could take him. inoshikacho plus rocktentenneji. those two groups alone would defeat itachi.

give itachi stamina, then you have a battle.

They dont know the full extent of Itachi ablites. At a high enough vantage point can get the whole village in his sight. And they don't know of his susano'o or spirit items. Not one can brake his genjutsu. And in the first part he didn't want to fight because he loved the village and made an excuse not to fight, and could have killed them with out Kisame. And Kisame is know as the zero tailed beast.

But I thought the question implied that Tobi sent Itachi and Kisame to konoha instead of Pein, so Naruto is training on Mount Myoboku. And Itachi took down Kakashi with tsukoyomi once within 1 second.

Itachi does not have a good enough chakra base to take on a whole nation....but he would put up a hell of a fight until he ran out of chakra/will to use susanoo anymore
