tsukuyomi is an unescapable genjutsu. once your trapped it'll break your will and because he controls time and space even if it takes the 8-tails one second to wake him up; bee will have already suffered for 72 hours in tsukuyomi.

its not necessarily 3 days he can control it for as long as he wants he just used 3 days on kakashi if he wanted ud be in that shit for a million years only a secoond would pass

You are 100% correct. Jinchurriki who have the full cooperation of their demon can break out of Tsukoyomi. Bee is the only person in naruto who can do this and did so against Sasuke. Naruto can't do this because although he can pull 9 tails chakra, he is not friends with the Kyuubi.

Draegod, I think you may have forgotten 2 things. You are right that genjutsu is a tool to stun or immobilize an enemy, but Tsukoyomi can kill. It is the only genjutsu that can (unless you count Yakumo's painting genjutsu which she can no longer use). Itachi could have killed Kakashi in part 1 with it, but he chose not to (because he's really a good guy). Kisame's statements during that pond battle with Gai, Kurenai, and Asuma confirm the deadliness of Itachi's Tsukoyomi.

However, it is safe to say that Sasuke's Tsukoyomi can NOT kill, because his genjutsu skill is much weaker than Itachi's (but this could change since he now has Itachi's eyes and EMS, we'll find out soon). Danzo and Madara pointed this out during Sasuke vs Danzo. Sasuke had to use a subtle genjutsu to trick Danzo and beat him. He is more of a ninjutsu type, as he chooses to use Susanoo and Ameterasu in every battle since the Summit.

EDIT: To address the topic, Even though Bee can break Tsukoyomi, I still think itachi would win 1 on 1. This is because Itachi still has Ameterasu (which Sasuke used to defeat Bee and force him to escape) and Susanoo (invincible shield) AND the ultimate Spirit Sword that seals the enemy away in a genjutsu world for eternity.

Taking this into consideration, I don't think Bee could beat Itachi anyday.

What you say is for ordinary genjutsu but Tsukiyomi is a special case where it lasts for 1 sec in real world. By the time you realise you are in genjutsu you are gone from the pain you suffer from 72hrs due to body exhaustion, mental collapse, neurogenic shock..

why to ppl think genjutsu can kill you? there is no genjutsu that can kill you! it merely targets you nervous system and one of the 5 senses. it is made to stun/confuse/immobilize/and make you collapse. after the genjutsu or during the genjutsu the user then makes the move for the kill. (visual/sharingan) but against a 2+ man cell fight, genjutsu is irrelevant because the partners would release the spell. against tsukiomi, the parter would protect the collapsed one, and wake them up/snap them out. plus the eft one tsukiomi has on the user is quite high (unless your sasuke with out of no where power ups!)

(sound) is said by shikamaru to be the best out of all the 5 senses genjutsu! the reason is it could target multiple enemies instead of one. and take it from there. these two are the main ones being used in the show so i want bring up the other senses since there is nothing to support them.

overall, even the tsukiomi cant kill some one. but is merely used to help go for the win. some one like killer bee would be protected from any tsukiomi, why? because not only does he have the 8tails to protect from all damage (octo arms and other things) and snap him out (since its 2 minds in one body. bee also has samehada who also has a separate mind that protects from all damage, pump bee with chakra to wake him up, and also heal all damage down to bee.

so please stop saying one tsukiomi wins a fight when it is a fact that it doesn't, it can lead to the victory tho. bee>>itachi any day all day!

i think genjutsu can kill, I remember in a filler arc at around ep. 190-200 ish,
that painter girl was causing trouble, and kurenai put a genjutsu on naruto so he couldn't move. Naruto's body would have died without ramen. Also Kakashi had pain in the tsukoynami.
