O_O the majority of that is pretty true.

most of use are fat, lazy, dumb (especially the southern regions), and/or conceited. not totally sure we are "brainwashed" than again if you are a fan of Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reily, and Glenn Beck, than yes you are brainwashed into believing utter and complete cow turds
Unfortunately that's how people are all over the world.

I'm British and I have always thought that America is one of the most advanced places in the world. The Europeans you spoke to were just jealous

The bottom line is we're all human. Some of us are going to be fat, some are going to be stupid. Some are going to be smart, and some are going to be kind. Drawing lines on a map isn't going to change that.

This is exactly why Americans are stereotyped as dumb, provocative and brainwashed. You have this idea that you are better than others. You didn't invent anything of that kind (the idea of "Internet" and the first steps towards its development actually were made in CERN) and you have merely a history of 519 years which seems like...a decade compared to cultures like the Egyptian, the Greek, the Persian, the Chinese and some others. The reason why most other people don't like you is because of your attitude in the Internet which goes like this usually "Oh shut up, or else my country will bomb you!"
It is this projection of your somewhat "advanced" military that you tend to use as a threat towards all others that makes you stereotyped. And I am not speaking of you personally, but for the hundreds of Americans I have met through Internet. As for the brainwashed part, you are brainwashed as we are all. We are all brainwashed by the media, so it's just good to admit it as I am admitting it for myself. That is "advanced".
Your completely unjustified, cruel wars that you tried to present as "freedom wars" is also the main reason why others do not like you. I am Greek and I have seen with my own eyes what you did to Yugoslavia in 1999. But let's not talk about that here, because it will only cause a fuss. Everyone has the right to their opinion and that is mine and I really do not want to offend anyone by this. It is what I have seen with my own eyes and what I believe.

In real life terms however, I have met Americans now that I live in UK and all I can say is that they are amazing people. Very friendly, caring, kind, funny and definitely helpful. One of my flat-mates is American actually and he's a really great guy. It's funny though cause he only eats burgers for breakfast, lunch and dinner and he weighs just 60 kilos. I wanna kill him! That's so f* unfair!
Anyway, like all stereotypes it's in our hands to change.
Seems like your attacking him. lmao (I know you aren't personally attacking him). America's Great. (I'm American) And so are other countries. But us not having a long history is only because we literally just started being America, after all Life started on the Eastern half of the world.

But yeah, the main attitude displayed of people of ANY country they are representing is ignorance, because people love to get bold behind a keyboard. We are all humans though, and none are perfect, so Americans are just as good as any other country and vice versa. :D

I don't think we're better than other countries. There are countries that are better, China is about to rack up the U.S. thanks to a stupid president who ****ed up our economy. War is not wanted here, I think our officials want war in the middle east for recourses thats why so many americans petition against it. Even though war was made we were still able to streghthen troops and the police in Iraq. Do you think Americans want war? Our politicians do, thats why we fight them, and we will until we win and stop a pointless war. I don't seem brainwashed O.0 News stations here want the war to end.. It's not telling us what our officials tell us, "War is Needed Blah Blah" noo, its not =/

Im just gonna stop here, you can attack me again =]
Good job offending a whole nation.

My intention was not to offend you and I think that's pretty clear. You asked a question and I replied in an honest way. If you don't like it, then I am sorry, but this is how and why you (and I didn't place you as a representative of a whole culture here, you did) get stereotyped. If you 'd prefer a beautiful lie then I am definitely not the person to provide it. If this feels as an attack then okay. My bad and I am backing off xd

The thing that bothers me most is how careless and fake most Americans are. It's like they are on the center of the world. They have so little knowledge about what happens in the rest of the world. It's always shocking when they start a discussion about something big like the WWII and really don't know much about it but see themselves as the big saviors of Europe, which is a country according to some...

About the fake part, the articulation and the way of speech and stuff like OMG really has taken over your language. My last point is, I think you're still all cowboys with your weapon laws. That really is retarded to see it makes you country safer when you have easy access to guns.. "the right to protect yourself" Give it up, the only thing America has been good in is warfare and developping stuff that kill people and use it as leverage to push their will.

Greetings from Holland...

Ps. I still love your country, no country is perfect. But this is my opinion, I could probably make an ever longer list about any other country in the world. But my main advise is GET OF THAT ISLAND. The world is so much bigger than just your own borders.

So much truth in that statement xd
A lot of the political analysts speak nonsense coated by sophisticated words and when rebutted, immediately cut off their assailant (Bill O'Reilly does this all the time ~_~)

Living in America is not always bad, but it gets bland easily. There are few naturally intriguing places in my opinion, and the views of the general public on international affairs is heavily influenced by what the media portrays, which is exactly why many people of other countries see Americans as brainwashed. In a sense, most Americans are.
One of the biggest issues I see in American society every day is ignorance. These days, people don't seem to care to educate themselves about the realities of the world in which we live. Instead, they are too busy being caught in their fantasy world of the aggrandized, glamorous "America" in which nobody else matters but our country. And of course, every now and then, there would be news of suffering in other countries, people would sigh and show pity for a few days and then return to living their false, contradictory lives. Despite this, a great number of people everywhere fall under this category, not just in America. However, Americans are known for this, and I can understand why. Often, I wish I lived in Europe or Japan. Things there are much more interesting and there are more genuine people than there are in America. ~_~

I remember sitting in the highest-level classes at my school and yet there were so many people there that did not demonstrate an ounce of true intelligence or even cultural and natural awareness of the world. It's disappointing that people who do not even know half of the presidents there have been in U.S. history want to become U.S. historians and politicians ~_~

I was taught that we entered the war when both sides were tired, we joined the allies side and helped finish the fight by providing moral support to the already tired allies and fighting along side with them. We lost many lives as well as the allies did. Then the promise between our president and their Ruler were not kept. Hah This then created the tension that still lingers today. We helped.. we surree are badd ppll.
Yes women and men have guns here.. I think for every 10 people there are 9 guns for them to shoot.

I agree with the above.

I'm not trying to say that I'm the most intelligent at my school, because I am not and most likely never will be. I'm in the IB Diploma Programme (go Google it if you don't know what it is) and the usually, around 1/3 of the class barely manages to pass.

I don't know what it's like in America exactly, but I live in Canada and things aren't so different here. All I know is that I'm getting the hell out of this country and moving to Europe as soon as I can >< I could go on forever ranting about Canada -.-

I don't have much to say on the topic of America, because I've been there a whopping 5 or 6 times and those were shopping trips. I agree with some of the usual stereotypes assigned to America, but that's because I'm desensitized thanks to the media xD

Who are these "most Americans" you're referring to? Have you met most of our country? If not, how can you make such a generalized statement?

Things like "OMG" are used by teens on the internet, not just from America, but from all over the world. Its not a representation of American speech.

Gun laws are a big topic of debate within the US. There are tons of people who are fine with them the way they are, and there are tons of people who are strongly opposed to guns. Thats the beauty of an entire country consisting of millions of people. Everyone has their own opinions.

Give it up, the only thing America has been good in is warfare and developping stuff that kill people and use it as leverage to push their will.
And we're the ignorant ones....
