Electricty channels well through metal. Well if you would face me with a sword that has been infused with lightning, I would infuse my sword with wind. Because Wind is strong against lightning. And if you just faced me with a regular sword without infusing it with something, I would infuse my sword with ligtning. When you infuse your sword with an element, it becomes much stronger than a regular sword.
It does. However, fusing other elements into your sword might not be as handy as simply sending a quick shock of lightning through your sword to shock me.
Honestly, I never thought of sending wind chakra through a sword to counter that move. Lightning is always attributed to a sword since it travels quickly and efficiently through it to shock the opponent.

*As I take a deep breath and concentrate, I first try to memorize the handseals. After doing them for more than 5 times, I know how to perform them very quickly without making any mistakes. As I look where my opponent is situated, I touch the ground with my both hands and quickly release an extremely large amount of chakra. I release the chakra through my hands and keep try to release raiton chakra to make the jutsu extra strong. I try to make the released raiton chakra that now is an electric bolt, look like a triangle with the tip headed towards the clone. I do this all by using a lot of focus, concentration and shape manipulation. As I direct this jutsu at my opponent, I can see the bolt littarly tearing the ground to make a passway to my opponent.*
And I know that you're next question is going to be how to use it effectivly ^^.
I would first use the hidden mist jutsu so that the opponent can't see me. Me being able to detect the opponent, will then directly make a clone. As I've done this, I use my clone to go under the ground using a earth jutsu. While I'm making the raiton jutsu, The clone will dig underground and will let his hands come out of the ground to hold the feets of the opponent. I then direct the raiton jutsu at my opponent, willing to sacrifice my clone. I can see the my opponent being directly hit by the attack and see my clone's hands poofing away, indicating that the clone is no longer with us. Let him rest in peace U.U

*I take a steady position and hold my wrist of my dominante hand. I then begin by releasing a large amount of raiton chakra in my dominante hand, trying to make a ball of energy. After constinantly releasing raiton chakra, I can see the energy ball, making a chidori. As I've all done this, I use all my concentration and shape manipulation to manipulate it into a blade. After making it, I keep pumping raiton chakra to make it longer. I also use again shape manipulation so that the chakra gets the form of a long sword. After keep doing this, I can see the sword become longer and longer. 2 metres, 3 , 4 , 5, 8 , 9 A little farther! 10 Metres. Well I think xd*
