Well the author heavily disagree with you. You know.....directly putting yonko and admirals in the same light via emphasized statements from his characters ya know? Twice in one arc at that.

I don't buy it, he got the Luffy treatment and was backstabbed by the WG. He is plotting his own revenge on the WG from the inside out.

The WG did put the hit on them because of Spandam's lies. Lucci expressed a grudge towards him, not the WG and hasn't shown any kind of connection with the WG beyond "You let me kill."

What would be the point in bringing back Lucci if he comes back in the exact same role ? If Oda wanted a government dog he could've just as easily made new ones over going back to Lucci and Kaku.

Lucci helped save a town on the coverstory when doctors fixed him up. That doesn't scream ruthless killer.

When Kaku was beaten he was feeling regret and was sad that his life as an assassin forced him to betray his friends and give up his job.

So that's why I think they're in this for the long game, they want to get back at the World Government. Also in the recent chapter when the other celestial hit Charlois. Lucci didn't look angry when his shot to kill Neptune was taken away. He looked with interest to what happened. And again Leo and Sai were going after a celestial dragon. As seen in Sabaody being in the path of one is enough to get shot. Lucci let them of with a kick without injuring them badly.

I'm not saying he is a good guy all of a sudden, I'm thinking he is more like a Smoker, Fujitora, Aokiji and less of an Akainu.

I can't believe that Kaidou is indebt to Big Mom. I always assumed he was superior to her, maybe due to how Big Mom referred to him as a monster back on Sanji's arc but, if he is indebt to her, it could be about anything.

Your timeline sucks and you're forgetting a lot of stuff.

1st of all most of those names you listed never gotten the Luffy treatment to receive a change of heart. Some are just random. The point was that Lucci's role as a ruthless government killer ended in enies lobby. Having him return the exact same would be strange and repetitive. Most of the names you listed haven't even played their part in the story yet. Also Smoker shouldn't be on that list because he is a prime example of someone who did change his view on pirates. Pre Alabasta Smoker isn't Punk Hazard Smoker.

Second in the coverstory the doctor treated Lucci for his wounds he received in the Luffy battle. He was indebted to him, so when pirates attacked the town he saved them. If he was ruthless why would he be so friendly towards a random doctor, or why would he care about the fate of that town after he was already done there ?

That shows he still has a sense of justice and is on the marine side but his moral compass has shifted.

Also your panel proves nothing because that is pre beating. After the beating he was humble just like Kaku.
