I think Kaguya's palm technique shows that it was possible. They just never gave the Hyuuga clan that much power early on - Probably because it would be difficult to defeat a clan who excel in close ranged combat, have strong defenses (rotation), and could neutralize your chakra techniques.

On paper the Hyuuga Clan should of been threats alongside the top Clan's, but they were treated as mid-tier.

Further development would have put Hyuga on a level that might have made the story that much more complicated to write imo xD At least i think that's why we saw that outside of Neji, Hiashi (war arc) and Hinata who lost all her fights, other Hyuga were only shown using Byakugan. Nothing GF related xD

It's true. Unless Himawari gets to be her own person in the time skip, we gotta rely on Boruto's Dojutsu, hoping that it connects more to the Byakugan so we can see its full potential.

Because so far it's using chakra against solid, physical objects (as in, Kaiten doesn't attack the chakra in the opponent, and if I recall correctly, Vacuum palm doesn't either). GF simply put is anything we have seen a Hyuuga can do, doesn't matter if it actually affects the opponent chakra network, it the range of techniques they learn in the Hyuuga clan.

Also, if the wiki is to be trusted, it says it's a kekkei mora, which (as the wiki itself states) is only available to Kaguya and her direct bloodline, so no, this is not a GF technique. As stated above, this is just a chakra cloak (with a shitload of chakra) fist.

Its not the byakugan being kekkei mora thats an issue, the gentle fist attack itself is a kekkei mora jutsu, which means containing all elements, and it resembles naruto's fists.
