Let's not be ignorant here. Itachi isn't invincible without Yata Mirror/Totsuka Blade active. Anyone in base is susceptible to death; however, with the keys to success (Yata & Totsuka) invincibility is attainable through manifestation.

So you genuinely believe the likes of Kaguya or Juubi Madara or RSM Naruto wouldn't be able to get through the Yata Mirror?

On topic, I don't think it matters how powerful a character is when they're badly written. Itachi is a fine example of a Gary-Stu. A character who is flawless, or, when they do have flaws, said flaws are presented in a charming or acceptable manner.

Itachi's invincibility isn't fact, he fought against a non MS Sasuke and Itachi was clearly much stronger than him and where did the manga rectify his invincibility. His MS is one of the best and coupled with his intelligence and skills he's quite a formidable opponent but lets be honest here, he's not invincible.

Common sense would tell you BZ being Kaguya's will is retconned nonsense. We're both aware of that, so I really don't see why you attempt to delude yourself into thinking otherwise. If you want to pull the "Yata's invincibility was never disproven" card, I could just as easily claim the Gentle Fist can destroy a Bijuu Bomb because Neji said the Gentle Fist can destroy chakra, and the limits of it was never disproven or clarified despite only destroying some chakra threads and a water dome, just as Yata's blocking of a few fireballs.

Common sense would also tell you the circumstances of Black Zetsu taking out Madara is not at all what one would consider an actual fight, unless you want to argue that in a hypothetical scenerio of Sakura taking out Itachi in his sleep would make her stronger than him, despite the how obvious of a non-fight it is, just like in the case of Madara and Zetsu. Again, I know you're aware of this, so why are you acting like you're not?
