The WG isn't connected to the Big Mom-Kaido storylines though. They had no role on Thriller Bark, they had no role on Zou, and they have no role on Whole Cake Island.

Why fight over CC now? Why did they not fight over Road ponyglyphs? As they very well know they have one of four. That would take them one step closer to be Pirate King?Since that is what they are aiming for in the end.

Why would Kaido fight Big Mom for a Road Poneglyph when his goal isn't to become Pirate King? Kaido's goal is to have a crew of all Zoan users, and Caesar is the only person capable of making that possible. Even if Kaido wants to be PK somewhere down the line, Caesar is far more valuable to him right now because if Caesar dies, his dream is definitely gone forever. If Big Mom gets a Road Poneglyph, he can just go steal it back if he actually wants it at any time. Getting Caesar back is more urgent in context with what Kaido wants than a Poneglyph.

Luffy barely scraped by to finish Doflamingo with enormous help of Law and a lot of other people. Doflamingo who shit his pants when he realized he might be facing Kaidou if he couldn't deliver smiles.

You're unable to see the gap in strength and even if you do see that gap you want to see it filled with trash story writing like a Gear 5th or friendship power, or maybe a hidden eye power.

You haven't done your homework boy, If you would know my post history I've said many many times that I would detest the idea of Luffy getting a Gear fourth before it even was introduced. I said it would be too similar to the Super Saiyan model where Luffy has to run through all the gears first before he finishes in his strongest form. So gear fourth is not great writing at all from Oda's part. It's the most predictable power up he could've come up with. So I'm indeed saying that another power up right off the bat after the introduction of Gear 4th would be an asspull. Because where was that power vs Doflamingo or Cracker ?

Well this is a tricky situation, Capone being an Insider might very well know the weakness of Big Mom and the remaning two Sweet Commanders and could very well be the reason to take down a Sweet Commander and then remains one? He/she can be taken down by someone tag teaming with Luffy and yes, the enraged army? If memory serves me right they are countable big shots and Jinbei One shotted one of them and Luffy is choking the hell out of the other and also, who are left to take care of the enraged army? Germa, Sun Pirates and a Strong mink. And not to forget a very interesting fact that taking out Luffy & Co escaping from prison is not done under Big Mom supervision? Direct orders from a Sweet Commander. So who is to SAY that Big Mom might not go down in this arc?

I am not overestimating Luffy here but If the cards are played right and Oda decides. You never know?

And we are still left over with the unexpected invites to the wedding. ; )

2. Luffy unveils Gear Fourth against Doflamingo. Gear Fourth bears a striking resemblance to Nightmare Luffy, who debuted against who? Gekko Moriah and Gecko and Doflamingo working under who? World Government and they both got defeated by who? Luffy and it pissed who? World Government.

3. Doflamingo works for Kaido, the guy who defeated Gekko and was ordered by who? World Government.

4. Fujitora was send after Luffy and Law? And they are going after who? Kaido.

5. The fact that both World Government wants to imprisoned CC and Kaido want Caesar Clown is perfect for putting them against each other

6. A major plot point Fujitora looks like he comes from Wano? And he is going after Luffy and Co and for the fact Kaido interfering with Wano.

7. Fujitora clash with Jack before he goes to Zou, again ( seems like a foreshadowing ).

And this is the best i could do when i am on my mobile and half sleepy. And you want Oda to throw away all of these connections by keeping World Government ( Admiral) and Kaido two separate stories, despite that i have outlined this? Please.

Yea im counting on the year of zorro to wow me. Zorro is my fav. Character from one piece.

I predict oda putting him against some pretty tough opponents in the future.. cant forget about zorros promise to luffy that he would never lose again.

I think zorro will find another demon sword in wano to help him fight jack the same way i think luffy will gain somthing from defeating big mom to help him fight kaido.

Adding WG connections to the connections we suggested doesn't mean the connections we suggested are less relevant. All that means is, sure, add the WG to it. Let's have Kaido and Big Mom clash, and also let's see how the WG will factor into that clash. That's even better.

Kaido has never expressed that he wants to be the Pirate King. I also said if he DOES want to become Pirate King, that's not as urgent as him getting his Zoans. When I said "Kaido can go get the Poneglyph from Big Mom anytime he wants," I meant that Kaido isn't strapped for time when it comes to getting that Poneglyph.

As Doflamingo's throne wars speech implies, and as the story has portrayed, no one is quite closer to becoming the Pirate King than anyone else. Kaido has no reason to rush and get the Poneglyph from Big Mom because not only is his army not complete, but because Big Mom isn't becoming the Pirate King anytime soon. There's no actual risk with Big Mom having that one Poneglyph because Big Mom isn't making any current moves to become the Pirate King that Kaido is aware of. Even if you argue that Big Mom trying to take the Vinsmoke technology is a move on her part to becoming the Pirate King, Kaido isn't aware of this, so it can't motivate him to move. Kaido has no motivation to get the Poneglyph from Big Mom right now.

Caesar is completely different. If Caesar's life is in danger, Kaido HAS to move and have that danger immediately removed because Caesar is the only person capable of making SAD. If Caesar died today, Kaido loses SAD, which means he loses SMILE, which means he loses his army. And if Kaido wants to become Pirate King, him losing his army means he's set back even further on becoming Pirate King.

If Big Mom keeps that Poneglyph another 24 hours, there's zero need for urgency on Kaido's part. So even if you want to make the claim that Kaido wants to become Pirate King, Caesar's life being is a greater motivation than getting a Poneglyph because Caesar's death severely damages Kaido's plans. Big Mom having the Poneglyph for a little while longer does not.

You're right, not capitalizing on all of the world-building that would lead to Kaido's and Big Mom's storylines colliding isn't wasiting world-building. I should have realized setting up a combination of the two storylines and then not combining them isn't a waste of time.

Kaido fighting Big Mam would make much more sense as at least they are both Yonko level, while giving Luffy some weird power that allows him to beat Big Mam and defeat the main villain of an arc(like always) would be really dumb imo.

Luffy beating Big Mom (with any type of help, or even by himself idc..) is not going to "waste world-building"..

In fact, I'd say the opposite..

Since Luffy vowed to take over Fishman Island (during the first arc of the New World) and promised to kick Big Mom's ass, it could be considered a "waste of world-building" if he doesn't..



All a matter of perspective and personal opinion though I suppose..

I hope we dont enter the kaido arc with big mom still a threat it just seems stupid to leave stones unturned for luffy.. id hate to see him run away from this fight .. id rather see him lose and then fight again then not at all.

Real Luffy fans don't care if he loses a fight.. we just don't want to see him run away anymore.. and he said it himself, that he won't run away from ANY one again, because that's not what the Pirate King would do..
