You just told me that the bible condones slavery and woman mistreatment so how did you not make any assertions? Do you not take pride in your argument. Are you not confident in what you believe? If you are, then that's kind of an assertion...
Clearly the only Slavery you know is the kind of the negro and white man. Slavery then, was an act of self-salvation. Parents would give their children to slave masters in order save their children because the parents themselves couldn't provide for them and there was actual income for a slave as well as a place for a slave to eat and sleep.
Collosians 4:1
"Masters, provide your slaves with what is right and fair, because you know that you also have a Master in heaven."
Slavery wasn't "you get a whippin' if you move too slow" kind of ordeal. It was a master apprentice relationship. If you know the story of Moses, you'd know that God sent him to set free the israelites, who were being tortured contrarily to the slavery that the Bible actually condones. But ofcoarse you probably looked up your atheist arguments online and found the baseless points on slavery, rather than actually reading the Bible and doing research to understand it better because all these "contradictions" are apocryphal.
The following passage shows that slaves are clearly property to be bought and sold like livestock.
"However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way. (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)"
The Bible clearly condones slavery you dummy. You could treat them property if that's not mistreatment then I don't know what that is.
What does the Bible say about beating slaves? It says you can beat both male and female slaves with a rod so hard that as long as they don't die right away you are cleared of any wrong doing.
When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property. (Exodus 21:20-21 NAB)
I ain't making any assertions it's in the freaking book read my friend.
